• Chase Launches 'Chase Pay' Payments Service to Compete with Apple PayJPMorgan Chase & Co today announced plans to launch its own payments service to compete with Apple Pay, reports Re/code. The news comes courtesy of Chase CEO of Consumer and Community Banking, Gordon Smith, who announced "Chase Pay" at the Money20/20 payments conference in Las Vegas.
• Newegg is already calling every sale an early Black Friday saleAs with all great holidays, US retailers try to extend Black Friday for as long as possible. That includes pushing it out to Cyber Monday, and pulling it back earlier in the week with pre-Friday sales. Newegg has taken its excitement perhaps a bit too far and simply declared all of next month to be Black November. But it isn't even waiting until November to get started: Newegg is already advertising all of its sales as Black November sales. It's a little ridiculous, though Newegg's Black November promo is actually something it's been doing annually for seven years now.
• YouTube will pay video creators during YouTube Red's free trialYouTube's new subscription service, YouTube Red, launched this week, and content creators are worried it will cost them money. Although the $9.99 monthly fee YouTube is charging users to skip ads will be split with content creators when the service is in full swing, YouTubers are worried they won't get paid during the service's 30-day free trial. The video platform has responded to these fears today, assuring video makers they'll still get paid even when YouTube Red users are riding for free.
