Submit ReviewJustin Metzler’s recent 2nd place at Ironman Coeur D’Alene has propelled him into the international spotlight. It’s easy to assume that performances come easy to a pro triathlete, but, as you’ll hear, Justin’s story is a long way from the ‘standard’ tale of lifelong athletic brilliance. As a 13 year old, Justin was a massive fan of Ironman triathlon, but was struggling to break 60 minutes for 10k. What followed was over a decade of dedication to his craft, relentlessly logging the training hours and watching his times gradually improving. His payoff? 2nd place behind Sam Long at Ironman Coeur D’Alene, in a time that broke the old course record.
