Steve Mura is a father of two, husband, amateur runner and coach with New York Road Runners. Recently, Steve became a kidney donor, quite literally giving his neighbor a new lease of life! He is using his experience as a living organ donor to raise awareness of organ donation and the full life that can be after surgery through challenging himself to do hard things like climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and running marathons! In this episode we talk about: -finding running in adulthood and the challenge of a marathon -coaching for New York Road Runners: balancing work with passion when you love what you do -living organ donors: busting myths and misconceptions around transplants and life after surgery -donor advocacy through physical challenges and adventures -gratitude for all things, big and small Follow Steve on Instagram @stevenmura and For The Long Run @forthelrpod  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/forthelongrun/support HydraPak Thank you to HydraPak for supporting this show and the community around it.
