At age 37, Jay Hewitt was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  A pastor at Friends Church in southern California, husband, and father to a little girl, this was a trying moment for Jay and everyone who knew him. He underwent brain surgery while remaining fully awake. Then, to everyone’s amazement and by the grace of God, he walked away from the surgery 100% healed with absolutely no degenerative effects. Then, one year later, he was diagnosed again. This time it wasn't simple a tumor. It was cancer. This experience created a massive shift in Jay's perspective. He has a desire to enjoy a deep connection with others. First, with his wife and daughter, then with close friends and faith community. Beyond that, he is embracing his journey and sharing it every step of the way. That journey includes an upcoming IRONMAN. A distance he has never raced before and the training for which has been done while subjecting his body to cancer treatments. Jay is one of the most remarkable people I have spoken with and I am sure you'll agree once you hear this episode. You can learn more about Jay at https://www.instagram.com/jayhewitt/.
