Though Lynda had previous experience as a singer in a band, Lynda was not comfortable with public speaking. When Lynda was asked to do a presentation before a well-known and—to her—a more experienced speaker, she panicked. At first, Lynda turned down the opportunity, but ended up changing her mind. On the day of the event, her nerves were through the roof to the point that she had felt physically ill. Somehow, she willed herself on stage during her time to speak and survived. After the event, that same well-known speaker came up to Lynda and shocked her with his comments about her presentation. Lynda learned a lot that day about playing small.
After working as a city clerk for 7 years, Lynda craved more from her career. She was eyeing a job that would give her more time to work on her network marketing business and was assured she would get the position. Lynda was crushed to find out that they had given the position to someone else, as she had already mapped out her future plans. This pushed Lynda to step away from her city job completely and jump into her network marketing business full time. A couple of months later, her path changed again for the better.
Lynda has the natural ability to get along with pretty much everyone and allow them to open up and share things they wouldn’t necessarily share with others. Lynda asks a lot of questions and really listens. When people are allowed to be heard, they talk more and you have the ability to learn more.
Lynda is thinking about buying Essential Living Maine magazine, but also working with the owner over the next year to double the reach of the publication.
Lynda is currently trying to stay balanced and healthy. She does know how to say no, but when something enticing comes along, it seems to escape her vocabulary.
Lynda loves to give people compliments and watch them shine. She believes that people don’t receive enough compliments and it really inspires them to want to do more.
Lynda would tell her younger self to listen to her gut instinct more and tune into her spiritual side.
