1969 REUNION  This week we veered off the Pacific Coast Highway to attend my 50th high school reunion in Phillipsburg, Kansas. As a welcoming gift when we pulled into my old home town, a semi-truck in front of us kicked up a rock and cracked our 1 week old, just replaced windshield.  New one put in before we left on our travels from a separate crack! Welcome back now get out...was this an omen, or were we off to a good start all bad luck out of the way. During the four days of festivities I was able to wrangle a few of my classmates in front of the CCCRS Microphone (there may have been some wine induced bribery but as this was high school all lips are sealed, and the code of silence prevails). With the help of a trusty Western Flyer “no speed” bike how do you "check in, or check up" on a the “dreamiest of teachers”. No such thing as a teacher crush just good citizenry. What does a new set of luggage have to do with teaching? Can a popped balloon lead to a gig at an inner city high school, and why was she sad to leave? Let's give teaches control and see what happens. How radical is that, and did it work? In this day and age would a Doctor, (based on the recommendation of his daughter) let a patient with pneumonia out of the hospital to play at a school concert?  Can you rock out even if you can't hang on to your drumsticks? And why did she miss all of the accolades?  Wait marriage right after High School? That can’t have worked out right? And why did  her husband miss their first year anniversary? Marriage longevity secrets revealed! School skipping and proud of it. Regrets or triumph, tune in and find out. How do you go from a class of two to a class of 70. The Speed expose!!Culture shock and survival are on tap in this interview. Watch out if this woman tries to set up your best friend with a tall man. Can you really drive backwards to turn back an odometer? Tales of true stories and dark country roads. Everyone makes mistakes, but why won’t some people let you forget them. Find out from this man of the cloth where he spent his “shark” youth, and what his nickname was.How do you get punished not once, not twice but more than three times for one "mistake", only in a small town. Hey now,how did they learn about it uptown before you got home? Who were the three tribes inside Phillipsburg High School ?. From the farm work to CEO, learn the overriding  philosophy that make someone equally good in either profession. How did working on a farm prepare him for life in general. What is the one thing high school did not prepare him for. Why do you go back to school for a masters degree, after you are already established in a successful career? Does being in a band work out  if you can't sing? How does a quiet unassuming young woman turn into a drill sergeant? The Air Force Academy, Job's Daughters surely they cant be connected. She will lull you back to a time when life was truly a lot simpler. What path in life would fit this beautiful and gentle woman? Finally, how did one person not originate in, but “joined” the Class of 1969 through a major life changing trauma.  A very personal story that very few people in the class even knew about. Just when you thought all old secrets had been revealed. If you had to complete Summer School did you go to the teacher's house to compete the program?  Make sure you subscribe to the Cross Country Coffee Roadshow at wherever you normally get your podcasts, from Apple,Stitcher,Pandora to Spotify or on our webpage https://crosscountrycoffeeroadshow.com/   Also look for this week's musical playlist on Spotify and listen to the songs from the glorious year of 1969 and our guests. http://bit.ly/SpotifyPHSreunion Join us next week when we are back on the road, in California.  We return to highway 1-101 the Pacific Coast Highway traveling from San Diego to Seattle in search of the best coffee in these United States.
