Meet Cheryl B. Engelhardt, who started out as a Marine Biologist working for the government, got bored with that, and went on to become a successful independent recording artist, topping numerous music charts including iTunes and Amazon. Cheryl talks with us regarding how to engage with your fans, creating clarity and communication, so you as the artist can incorporate your audience into your marketing team to help achieve the goals you set out for yourself. We also talk about her latest album "Luminary".

The New Yorker received a degree in Biology and in Music from Cornell University, studied orchestration at Juilliard, then began her tenure as a composer for films, ads, theater, and choirs, as well as a touring pop recording artist. Her successes as an independent musician made her a sought-after speaker on music business panels and podcasts. She’s spoken for thousands of people on live stages about productivity, communication, and online presence (ASCAP Expo, SXSW, DIY Musician).

Also on the show is guest host Kaytee Long who's with DIY Music PR in Los Angeles.
