You can really do what you choose to do, Allen Vaysberg teaches, if you put your mind to it. The way to do it is to look at other people’s examples. Allen speaks simple, profound words. For example: “In order for you to love what you do, you have to understand who you are. Once you understand who you are and what you are passionate about, then you must become an expert in it. Once you become an expert then you make that your profession and you start creating products and services that help other people. Over time that becomes your source and your career and you start loving what you do. And that takes time.” When Allen came to the US from what is today Ukraine, at the age of 14, he and his brother had a much better life in front of them. They would not be limited by their ethnicity, would not suffer religious persecution. But his father who had spent decades to become an accomplished inventor and senior engineer started over in the US as a dish washer. His mother received training here as a manicurist. That parental sacrifice drove him to succeed in the technology world, and drives him today to help others succeed. We take time to explore how prejudice is passed down from one generation to the next, and how a child can differentiate what they learned growing up from reality. In Allen’s current work, through his company, Amiveris Enterprise,  the difficult part is to make his clients believe that what they choose to do in life is possible. People have been programmed that they cannot achieve what they desire, and to recalibrate them so that they can flourish, and be who they choose to be. One of the best ways for his clients to understand their own success is to look at others examples. That’s fantastic to hear because that is what this podcast, The Immigrant Entrepreneur, is all about – showing you examples of successful immigrant entrepreneurs, maybe from your country or region, who overcame impossible challenges, to reach their goals, and continue to grow.
