News Hasbro Black Series wave 11 cases will contain Hera, Lando, Emperor's Royal Guard, Tusken Raider, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Director Krennic. With representation from nearly every era of Star Wars, this is an excellent case. Rumor has it this will be the final wave to feature the red and black packaging of the last two years. More than likely, the packaging will be updated for the Star Wars 40th Anniversary. Star Wars 40th According to Brickseek.com, Walmart's inventory system is already showing data for the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Hasbro line up. Inquisitive Rebelscum forum member Ham_Salad has revealed a number of SKUs that describe product as "SW BLK SERIES 6INCH 40TH ANN FIGURE ASST." The character line up suggests a tribute to the original 12 Kenner figures. Another SKU references Black Series die cast figures. What those will be remains to be seen, but Bill has some guesses. News The Black Series 3.75" AT-ST with driver has started hitting Walmart without any sort of announcement ahead of time from Hasbro. Check out Jedi Temple Archives and Yakface for coverage and Brickseek info. Due to release on February 1, the Darth Maul miniseries from Marvel Comics will be one of the very few narratives in the Star Wars canon timeline to take place prior to The Phantom Menace. Bandai Star Wars 1:12 Model Kit Bill recounts his build of the Bandai BB-8 model kit. These kits are a blast to build, and if you are into LEGO and/or six inch action figures they you should try at least one at some point. BB-8 comes with R2-D2 and while Bill has yet to assemble Artoo, he does recommend this kit to beginners. They need very little customization and are very quick to complete. These affordable kits are fun, relaxing, and fulfilling. Star Wars Destiny Trade Federation 85 wraps up with some Star Wars Destiny chat. Joe and Bill recap a few decks and games they played in the last week. And they look ahead to next week when the Knights of Ren podcast hosts are scheduled to join in.

There's a whole new set of marathons and a whole new set of mechanics to cover on the latest episode of the Trade Federation!

It has been a very strange week for Star Wars Card Trader, so Joe and Bill sit down to talk all about the recent updates and changes to the cards we have available in app the the ways by which we will be acquiring them moving forward. The biggest thing that happened this week is the release of a heaping pile of brand new expansion base cards. Hot on the heels of the second series of Marathons ending, Topps begun dropping the Base 3 Expansion Preview cards for purchase in the 'spend real money' section of the app, which gave us all a good look at the new cards that would be coming for us to get in packs. What very few people expected was that when those cards finally landed in standard parallels, they'd not only be segregated to their own packs but also cost significantly more than the previous packs. A three card pack of new white expansion base cards, formerly 2500 credits is up to a full 5000, and every other pack has also doubled. Blue expansion packs will cost you 10k and the red expansion base pack with 7 cards costs a whopping 15,000 credits. This would be bizarre on its own, but making the situation far more concerning and even confusing is the fact that we have already begun a brand new series of Marathon chases! So far Droids and Evolution are the news sets revealed, and while neither seem to be likely to be huge fan favorites the most interesting thing about the whole ordeal is the fact that these new marathon cards have 24-hour windows to be pulled and for the first 4-6 hours can ONLY be pulled in the 15,000 credit packs at 'reduced' odds. Following this exclusivity window the cards become available in the standard red base packs for 7500 credits but the odds are more than twice as hard and you will get zero new expansion base cards by choosing to chase in that fashion. Joe and Bill are both enthusiastic about the new base cards, everything from their design to their character choices seem to be very nice. However neither of the hosts can get on board with the fact that the cards are separated out into their own special insanely expensive packs instead of being mixed in with the regular set of base cards. After talking about the new sets for a while the guys get into the weekly listener calls and more on the latest Trade Federation!

In a week marred by a number of frustrations across multiple different Topps apps, Joe and Bill sit down and try to decide what the future looks like. Mostly though, Joe is mad about a number of different things and is taking the time to air his grievances. There are a number of things that have had people frustrated in the recent weeks, from the Topps producers pulling back from Twitter, strange sets with annoying mechanics, and worst of all people spending credits on packs that actually don't have chase cards in them and Topps seemingly new refusal to do credit refunds even in the case of a screw up on their end. Welcome to the era of checking and double checking card counts before you spend credits! Joe shares an email he received stating that Topps will no longer issue credit refunds (that in fact, they are UNABLE to do so despite many credit refunds in the past) and that in some cases packs may still be available in the credit store when the inserts have sold out. Suddenly Topps Card Trader apps are a 'buyer beware' affair and Joe is none too happy about any of it. On the bright side Bill was able to obtain one of his white whale cards this week. As many people read about in the subreddit, Bill made an epic cross-trade from Walking Dead in order to get the very exclusive 2015 Orange Base Variant Han. He spends some time telling the story of how he managed to get the card, what he had to give up to get it, and then gives a little history lesson on the card itself and why he has long viewed it as his white whale. It's been a big week for Topps with the release of a brand new card collecting app! And surprising nearly everyone, it's The Walking Dead Card Trader! People had known Topps had another license coming, but speculation was that we'd be receiving something based on a license that Topps currently held. WWE and Dr. Who were the top prospects as far as most were concerned, with Garbage Pail Kids being another hot option, but TWDCT (a little unwieldy, we admit) came out of nowhere to the surprise and delight of Joe and Bill, at the very least. First up this week, the guys are cracking jokes about everything at RetroZap becoming Walking Dead content going forward but then it's a bit of business as usual as the cover Hoth Ice and Mustafar Fire variants and Joe's favorite new set Clone Wars Illuminated. Once all the important Star Wars news is out of the way it's on to The Walking Dead! The crew breaks down the new marathons and the sets, talks about marathon odds vs regular set odds and prices, talk about how the cards look and compare to Star Wars and more. Everyone in the SWCT community seems to think that Walking Dead is nearly impossible for a free to play person to keep up with, but Joe and Bill don't entirely agree. With the way inserts are stacking in the packs, it'll be interesting to see how Topps handles things going forward, and Trade Federation will continue to cover the events as they unfold! After that, it's on to the poll where Bill took extra time to frustrate everyone in advance of the recording by claiming that the show will be focused on the the new Walking Dead app rather than Star Wars going forward, and some people seemed to believe him. It's a packed episode this week as Joe and Bill sit down for Episode 48. Ever wondered why the show is dedicated to Star Wars Card Trader 'and other collectibles'? Finally you get a chance to find out as the guys start the show with a chat about Star Wars Funko POP figures and Bill talks a bit about the monthly Smuggler's Bounty box, as well as the various chase variants found (or not found as the case may be for Bill) in the box. Before long however, it's a return to the Star Wars Card Trader talk you know and love. Listen as the guys tackle the new Mini card variants and discuss how charging $99 for a smaller version of a digital card seems like the definition of insanity. Worry not if you are concerned that Topps has claimed that the mini cards will never be put on sale as Bill has a very plausible explanation of how they may manage to do that very thing thanks to some clever wording in the transmission. Next up Joe and Bill get into the new (and arguably best) base variant we have seen in a long while: Laser Burst! As the polar opposite to the new Mini set, the Laser Burst variants look great and are totally free, while also giving collectors a chance to chase a more limited Laser Burst set and the end of every week as a reward for collecting all the free versions. The guys speculate for a short time about how hard they will be to obtain before Joe makes a bold proclamation about values and chasing the Laser Burst sets to the bitter end.
