It's been a long road getting from there to here. From humble beginnings, to a pop culture phenomenon, the Rusted Robot Podcast has been around a very long time. We have met so many amazing people along the way. We would like to thank you all for the support you have shown us over the years.

The podcast began in January 2014, and with only a few breaks here and there, it continued on for almost 7 and a half years. It started with Shawn and his wife Brigitte sharing their love of all things geek. It was an attempt to bring a bit of culture to a small northern Ontario town better known for hunting, fishing, drinking and drugs. Once their marriage fell apart, they continued on for awhile but times changed. After a brief hiatus, Shawn recruited Josh as a new co-host. When Josh wasn't available, there would be solo episodes and other guest hosts.

This episode is a farewell to a huge part of Shawn's life. The episode is filled with nostalgia and absolutely packed with clips. So many people were a part of this episode in particular, and of the podcast in general. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. This is a massive, epic book series. Amazon Video is adapting the books into a new series. 6 episodes are completed with 2 more to shoot. We may see the show this year. Speaking of books, we also talk about author Brian Keene, as well as the Dragon Lance series of books. All this medieval talk leads us into a short discussion about Dungeons and Dragons.

Sesame Street just introduced us to 2 new muppets. And they're a Black father and son duo. This will help the show teach kids about racial relations.

Scott Pilgram vs the World will be released in theatres again as part of its 10 year anniversary. This is a one-week only USA event.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon may be finally getting an update or a remake. We have been hearing about this for over 30 years, but this time it might actually happen.

The Star Trek Voyager documentary is well on its way. It's nearing the one million dollar mark. There is still time to donate to the funding campaign.

Keanu Reeves has written a comic book series called BRSRKR. Netflix has acquired the rights. We will be seeing a live action movie followed by an anime series. Keanu will be starring in everything.

The Last Starfighter is one of our favourite films from childhood. They have tried to get a sequel going for years. A sizzle reel full of concept art has been released. It appears the film could finally actually be happening!

Boston mayor declares March 26th as Leonard Nimoy Day! To celebrate what would have been his 90th birthday, the city of Boston will be celebrating everything Spock! Coming September 7, the Autobiography of Spock will be released. Written by Una McCormack, the book will be a telling of Spock's life in the Vulcan's own words.

Godzilla fights! Our good buddy Rene has a special segment for us this week. Rene counts down the top 10 fights Godzilla has battled in his 60+ years on cinema screens.

Star Wars on Disney+ is bringing us so much good stuff. As of April 2, we will be getting the Ewoks. Not only is Disney giving us the 2 movies, but we will also see the Ewok cartoon, the 2003 version of the Clone Wars, and the Boba Fett animated portion of the 1978 holiday special!

Superman and the comic heroes! We have a brief review of the Justice League Snyder Cut. We have a quick review of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Our retro trailer of the week is the original trailer for 1978's Superman: The Movie.

In other news, the Wonder Years is getting a reboot. Resident Alien has been picked up for a second season.

The Star Trek franchise is currently in the midst of some major universe building. This week's announcement tells us that we have 5 new cast members joining Pike, Spock and Number One on the USS Enterprise. Strange New Worlds has just begun production. And, according to a new book, Captain Pike is the most influential man in Starfleet. Pike is the reason there has been no holographic technology from the 2250s until the 2370s. Additionally, there is talk this week with Wesley Snipes. Snipes has been recalling the audition process he went through to almost be cast as Geordi La Forge. We all know that role went to Levar Burton, but it could have been Snipes playing the iconic engineer. The final Star Trek news is a new docu-series coming soon. The Nascelle Company is producing an 8 part series called The Centre Seat for the History Channel to help celebrate the franchise's 55th anniversary.

Bruce Campbell confirms production on Evil Dead Rise. The new film will not star Campbell's Ash Williams, but we will have a new female hero to battle the forces of evil!

Attack the Block is an amazing, yet under appreciated sci-fi gem from 2011. Director Joe Cornish confirms there is a sequel in the works. No word yet on cast or story line.

Avatar was once the highest grossing film in box office history. And then Avengers End Game came and beat it with a re-release. But now, China has re-released Avatar. Avatar is now back as the box office champion!

18 essential science fiction and fantasy films directed by woman. There is a list. We read the list. We talk about the films. How many have you seen?

Russia and China have signed a new deal. They are going to cooperate on a moon base. They are calling it the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) and they are inviting other countries to cooperate.

This week's trailers lean towards science fiction and super heroes. We also have a trailer for a documentary of sorts. There is some fun Star Trek news and talk about books and authors. Movies, mutants and more!

STAR TREK: Lower Decks season 1 is coming to DVD and blu ray on May 18. There are tons of special features. And if you enjoy collecting special packaging editions, there will be a steelbook version as well.

There is another new Star Trek movie in development. Many false starts have been reported, but this time it may happen. Kalinda Vazques has been tapped to write the next movie. There are no plot or cast details, but if it happens, this will be the first Trek film written by a woman.

The Alamo Drafthouse theatre chain has filed for bankruptcy. They have also closed 3 locations. There is wild speculation on what this will mean for the company, but no one is certain, especially with a buyout quite likely.

Kevin Feige is working on the next X-Men film. Marvel has been slowly incorporating mutants into their cinematic universe. The Mutants could be the next film to feature the X-Men. Speculation is running wild!

Australian author Matthew Reilly is turning to directing. He has been hired by Netflix to direct Interceptor. Reilly is known for his fast-paced action-adventure novels and the upcoming film promises to be more of the same.

Christopher Lloyd in the news! He has 2 exciting projects on the horizon. In Discovery+'s upcoming documentary, Lloyd will be tracking down the other 6 time machines in Expedition: Back to the Future. The 4 part doc will hit the streaming service on March 15. And, in another project, Lloyd teams up with William Shatner in Senior Moment. No release date has been given.

Jupiter's Legacy will be on Netflix as of May 7. It's a fun, new superhero series.

Doors. It's a new trailer for a movie coming out on March 19. Without warning, millions of mysterious alien "doors" suddenly appear around the globe. In a rush to determine the reason for their arrival, mankind must work together to understand the purpose of these cosmic anomalies. Bizarre incidences occurring around the sentient doors leads humanity to question their own existence and an altered reality as they attempt to enter them.

Thunder Force. Coming to Neflix on April 9. In a world where supervillains are commonplace, two estranged childhood best friends reunite after one devises a treatment that gives them powers to protect their city.

Hulu debuted the trailer for the new M.O.D.O.K. series. Spider-Man 3 is going to have No Way Home for its subtitle.

In other pop culture news....DC will be giving us a Blue Beetle movie. Focusing on Jaime Reyes, this will be the first Latino superhero film. Jordon Peele's Twilight Zone reboot was canceled after 2 seasons. Halle Berry will be starring in Mothership for Netflix. Wesley Snipes has an exciting new project in the works. There's going to be a Pet Semetary prequel. District 10 is currently in development. It's the long awaited sequel to District 9. The new zombie film from Zack Snyder released a teaser trailer for Army of the Dead.

Star Trek Prodigy reveals its characters. This week we got the first look at the animation and character styling for the new series. The show focuses on 6 non-human creatures. In other Trek news, we have been told that Section 31 will not happen until after the other new and current series finish their runs. We remember Leonard Nimoy who left us 6 years ago.

Reboots, Remakes and Sequels! The Running Man is getting a new film from Edgar Wright. The new film will be an attempt at a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King's book than the original 1987 film. Adam Wingard will be directing a sequel to 1997's Face/Off. No word or details on cast or plot or release date. Train to Busan, the 2016 Korean zombie movie is also getting an Americanized version for an English audience. And the CW is rebooting The 4400.

Stacy Osei-Kuffour has been hired by Marvel Studios to write Blade. She’s a playwright turned TV writer who was a story editor and writer on HBO’s Watchmen, as well as a writer on Hulu’s Pen15 and story editor on Amazon’s Hunters and HBO’s Run. She was hired after a six-month search. Reportedly, Black writers were the only ones seriously considered and Osei-Kuffour’s hiring makes her the first Black woman to write a Marvel movie.

Eight for Silver, the new film by writer-director Sean Ellis, is an attempt to tell a brand new werewolf story, one that’s set in the past, is delightfully disgusting, and even tries to tug at your heartstrings. There is no current release date, but by all accounts the film is something to behold.

Saban Films has unveiled a trailer for Cosmic Sin, the new sci-fi adventure starring Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo, which arrives later this month. It hails from director and co-writer Edward Drake (Animals) and represents his second feature. It follows a group of rogue soldiers who launch a preemptive strike against a newly discovered alien civilization.

Legendary and Netflix’s Pacific Rim: The Black is the continuation of the franchise co-created by Guillermo del Toro where evil Kaiju try to destroy the Earth but humanity meets them with massive robot warriors, called Jaegers, that require two humans to control. We already knew the show was coming to Netflix March 4—and now, we’ve got the first trailer, where we meet Hayley and Taylor, two kids who commandeer an old Jaeger in an attempt to survive and find their missing parents.

Also this week, we are discussing recent television viewing. We are talking about WandaVision, The Boys, and Resident Alien. This year's cancelled TV shows are also discussed. Finally, we talk Shin Ultraman, Godzilla toys, and Sir Patrick Stewart's recent Covid vaccination.
