This is the final episode of The Metal Podcast, it has been with great appreciation that we have sustained such a long and beautiful tenure as your favorite source for metal interviews, but it has now come to an end. I know there will be much sadness and great anger, but we cut you loose from the weekly burden of listening to excellent interviews and our metal nerd rage. Whether you listened to Vision From the Darkside, The Metal Sucks Podcast or The Metal Podcast, we appreciate all you have done for us, our direct supporters, our media network, and everyone who we forget to thank, thank you! It has been a great run, and I am sure you will hear us again in another form!

70000 Tons of Metal, the world’s largest and first metal cruise sailed to Grand Turk this year and for the first time in many years Godless had to stay home, but I still was able to sail the seas to bring you 70000 Tons of Podcast! We talk about the adventure a little bit more, but our featured interviews were pretty awesome too! With 61 band on board and people from 75 different countries represented this year, it was one of the best I have experienced. Many bands weren’t doing the interview circuit, but this episode features three amazing bands: Sepultura, Septicflesh and Goatwhore.

Andreas Kisser of Sepultura talks about the bands legacy, his relationship with the Cavalera family, trying to separate from some of the ghosts of their past and carving a new future for the band as they journey on in their 35 year career.

Krimh Lechner, the newest member of Septicflesh, talks about his coming to the band, the new album Codex Omega, how this process for him was completely different from how records are done today and his journey into the legendary Greek bands history.

Ben Falgoust lead singer of Goatwhore talks about the process of making the new album, why it turned out sounding different from past albums, how he got into an angry place to record, what made him so angry and of course I had to get a Soilent Green update too.

It is the dawn of a new day for The Metal Podcast, we are changing the way we deliver things to you for the foreseeable future, or at least as long as we can keep up this schedule and see how it works. We will still be bringing you the great interviews we are known for, but pulling apart the other pieces to make the length a little more digestible. So the late in the week podcast will contain our topics and discussion with a little preview of the interviews that will be posted in their entirety on Mondays. It was a pretty easy decision to do the split, the toughest part was figuring out how to number them!  

This week on our Thursday podcast we talk about the 70000 Tons of Metal Cruise and Decapitated being acquitted of the charges against them in Washington. Godless is missing this year’s installment of the cruise and is now regretting the decision as we get within spitting distance of departure. We talk about the accusations against Decapitated and what that means not only for them, but also for the industry, the victims and the world as we move forward in a time where due process can be limited and judgment passed in the media not the courts.
