When I was 16 years old, I used birth control with my boyfriend, and I still became pregnant with my daughter, Danyell. A couple of years later, I used a different form of birth control and became pregnant with my son, Marc. Several years later, I used another form of birth control and became pregnant with my fourth child, Mitchel. 

Out of 5 children that came through my body, 3 of them were created even though I was not planning them and was actively trying to prevent pregnancy from occurring. Even my parents were told by doctors several times they’d never be able to conceive children, and they ended up having 4 children without any intervention, just love, and sexual energy. 

So when you find yourself feeling down, frustrated, and defeated because you’ve experienced a client saying “No” or “I can’t afford your services.” or they don’t respond after you’ve shared the investment with them, remember YOU CAN’T STOP CREATION FROM OCCURRING! 

When you are committed to the process and enjoy your business, you can’t stop your business from expanding into a multi-million dollar Empire. 

Think of your business as when you’re in an ovulation cycle, and you feel your body so sensitive and turned on. Ask yourself...

✨How can I think about my business that can cause me to feel all juicy, excited, and turned on?

✨How can I make love with my business each day and enjoy the ups and downs, the ins and outs, ebb and flows (like an orgasm)?

✨How can I continually fall in love with serving my current clients and those that are coming?

✨How can I find “turn-on” in rejection and excitement for more, like a tease?

✨Are there other sensitive spots in me that I’m currently resisting that I can let in and surrender to so I can ride the ebb and flows?

Your sexual energy centers hold the power to create human life, and it’s the same center that can create a flourishing wealthy business. Our lives, as women, have changed so much over the past 60 years. There was a time when our primary focus was on survival. We had to compromise ourselves in so many ways. From being married to a man who was abusive to becoming a sexual object to receiving the abundance and role we wanted.

I don’t know about you but when I grew up being a little girl looked different then it did for the boys around me. 

There are good things about being a girl like playing dress-up and makeup. Learning to cook and prepare meals. Being protected by some of the boys. Getting to be served first. Dates being paid for.

There were also many not so good experiences. Like being told not to “make any waves.” “Don’t be so emotional.” “Be mindful of the rest of us.” And given much fewer expectations to earn money, achieve in school, and be noticed.

As we grow up we continue to bring much of this programming into our lives now. Many of us women don’t ask for help. We don’t raise our hands or speak up when in need. We can continue to keep ourselves back from advancement or receiving more money, support, and recognition. 

The question is do we have to continue to battle with these problems and hold ourselves back from the success and recognition we deserve? What does it take for us when to be successful to receive the life and business we dream about? To create financial wealth and freedom?

SUCCESSES:

So far, the program has not only connected Indy women – It’s seen a lot of success.

33 percent have found a new mentor inside their company, while 43 percent found a mentor outside their company. 14 percent got a new position within their organization, 12 percent were promoted, 7 percent got new certifications to advance their career, and two launched their own businesses.

RESEARCH INFORMATION:

Kelley School faculty conducted survey research throughout this program (and will do more afterward) to better understand the barriers women in central Indiana face when trying to advance their careers.

FIRST SURVEY RESULTS

• • Of all survey respondents through Linking Indy Women --  we discovered that only 26 percent of women had a personal brand statement
  • Only 8 percent of women had a sponsor. (Sponsors are a key driver of promotions.)
  • Only 19 percent have a written career development plan
  • 72 percent had a mentor, but most were informal, within their own companies, and other women (need formal, outside company, and with men, to be promotable)
  • 80 percent of respondents felt that while they were strong performers, they have a very high fear of failure.

(through these answers, the faculty created the five workshops for Advancing Indy Women: personal branding, body language, mentoring and sponsorship, career development plan, building confidence)

 UPDATED SURVEY MID-WAY THROUGH ADVANCING INDY WOMEN PROGRAM

What has happened so far in the program? 

• 33 percent have found a new mentor inside their company
• 43 percent have found a mentor outside their company
• 14 percent got a new position in their same organization
• 12 percent were promoted
• 7 percent got new certifications to advance their careers

All too often women try to be what they think others want them to be. They get into careers and start businesses others want for them. I get it. I've been there too. Unfortunately, it's way too common. It can feel like you're living a lie because you're unable to be authentically you.  

When this happens we lose our power and become less than what we can be when we're being authentic. This can cause so much stress that eventually it can lead to physical illness, depression, and/or anxiety. I personally experienced depression, anxiety, and major stomach challenges. My guest this week, Ginger Hansen turned her major health challenges into health, mission, vision, and business.

Years ago Ginger had debilitating health struggles with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ADHD, brain fog, and obesity. She was NOT being authentic to herself and on top of that conventional medicine left her without answers.

That's when she took her health and life into her own hands and made drastic changes. She started being authentic with a mission and vision to help others do the same. 

Today she's a Fibromyalgia Expert, Health Coach, Nationally Board Certified (NCCAOM), Oriental MedicinePractitioner in WA. Her business has been so successful she won Best of 425 Award in 2019 and 2020.
