Submit ReviewWelcome to episode 166 of The Autumn Windbags! Question of the Day, what is the Raiders biggest need heading into the 2023 NFL Draft? It can be whatever "biggest need" means to you. RJ's biggest needs are as follows: 1. Cornerback - Nate Hobbs regressed and he should be in the slot anyway. Need two starting corners but at least have some depth. 2. Defensive Tackle - Neil Farrell and Matthew Butler couldn’t get playing time on a trash defense. Nichols and Tillery are place holders. Why’d we let Andrew Billings go? If this group can get their shit together the rest of the squad will look better. 3. Linebacker - Spillane and Masterson are cast off back ups while Divine Deablo hasn’t developed but has some potential. 4. Quarterback - Jimmy Garoppolo is a placeholder and always gets hurt. If you don't have a franchise QB, you are looking for one. 5. Safety - Trevon Moehrig regressed in his second year and he’s the only thing close to a starter on the squad. 6. Tight end - Austin Hooper and OJ Howard on cheap, one year deals. Only reason this isn’t higher is the rest of our skill position players at tits. 7. Defensive end - God bless you, Maxx Crosby. Chandler Jones is staying for at least one more season. Malcom Koonce is not developing like we hoped. 8. Guard - Alex Bars is the weak link and Dylan Parham is likely headed to center at some point. 9. Center - Andre James for now. Need depth. 10. Tackle - Kolton Miller is a rock. Jermaine Eluemunor's job to lose on the right side. 11. Running Back - Does any team need six running backs? Only issue is did no other RB’s get time because Josh Jacobs was so good or because they suck? 12. Wide Receiver - Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Jakobi Meyers. One of the best wide receiver rooms in football. Depth is an issue with mostly undrafted/practice squad guys fitting a specific niche. 13. Punter - AJ Cole is a two time Pro Bowler. 14. Kicker - Daniel Carlson is the best kicker in the NFL. Shove it, Justin Tucker. The value of looking at mock drafts is picking up trends and seeing value of general positions. Soto has seen over 50 2023 NFL Mock Drafts and this one is his favorite: https://theathletic.com/4413880/2023/04/17/nfl-7-rounds-mock-draft-2023/ The Raiders pick Devon Witherspoon, Trenton Simpson, Sam Laporta, Colby Wooden, Aidan O’Connell, AT Perry, Jordan Battle, Jon Gaines II, Ryan Hayes, Chris Rodriguez. Purdue quarterback Aidan O'Connell looks just like Landfill from Beef Fest. In LV Raiders news, NFL Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs has NOT signed his franchise tag. How worried should Raider Nation be? Raiders rumors point to University of Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is the number three quarterback on Raiders general Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels draft board. Antonio Brown Raiders wide receiver briefly, explains why he fell out with Tom Brady. 2023-24 NFL Season schedule rankings are out. The Raiders schedule is the fourth toughest in football. In What Up, Windbags, how high should Anthony Richardson go, do the Raiders draft a quarterback this season or next and are we too picky about defensive players?

Welcome to episode 165 of The Autumn Windbags! Question of the day: who ya got, Jake Paul or Nate Diaz? It was announced today that the YouTuber and former UFC fighter are throwing down August 5th in on pay per view in an eight round boxing match. Are you on the side of the badass UFC fighter or the YouTuber? The Las Vegas Raiders have 12 picks in the NFL draft including the number seven overall. The Windbags NFL Mock Draft 2023 on what moves the Raiders could make with that number 7 pick. Trade up, trade down, stay put, etc. University of Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson visited the Las Vegas Raiders this week. The raw athlete made NFL news with his NFL combine numbers because of his athleticism. Anthony Richardson is such a different athlete from Derek Carr you can understand why Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler could be seduced by his talent. NFL Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs is still waiting for a contract extension. The Las Vegas Raiders want to franchise tag their former NFL Draft first round pick and will owe him $10 million next season. The LV Raiders news is a journalist pitched a two year, $16 million contract idea to keep him in the Silver and Black. In Raiders News, University of Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter visited the Raiders. Would the Jalen Carter raiders pick be worth the bad PR? Devin White asked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a trade. Should the Raiders pursue the linebacker? After watching Travis Kelce vs Raiders, it doesn't seem like someone like White could defend the Chiefs tight end. In What Up, Windbags, the guys discuss if the offensive line was below average, what's Soto like as a cat guy and how to spread the Autumn Windbag word!

Welcome to episode 164 of The Autumn Windbags! With RJ headed to Miami, the guys ask what is your favorite city you'd never vacation to? Soto says Atlanta. RJ says Chicago. Both have twerking stories. The Las Vegas Raiders signed veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer to a two year deal. In NFL free agency, this is the third New England patriots quarterback signed to the Raiders along with Jarrett Stidham and Jimmy Garoppolo. All quarterbacks are trying to replace the production and better of Derek Carr. With NFL free agency winding down in the NFL Draft, the Raiders offseason receiver a grade from an anonymous NFL executive. The exec was concerned about protecting Jimmy Garoppolo. He also wondered if the Raiders traded talent for familiarity with the signings of Brian Hoyer, Jimmy Garoppolo, Jakobi Meyers and Chandler Jones and releasing Derek Carr, Darren Waller and others. Raiders beat writers Vic Tafur and Vinny Bonsignore contradicted each other with reports within six minutes of each other. University of Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter may or may not be on the Raiders NFL draft board at number 7. The back and forth shows the difference in types of media. NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus spoke to @ThePatMcAfeeShow about the Raiders NFL Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller's trade to the New York Giants. Did Dave Ziegler get swindled by the Darren Waller's agent? In Raiders news, PFT reports that New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is a trade target for the Las Vegas Raiders. Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers visits the Las Vegas Raiders. Is there any chance the Raiders would use a NFL First round draft pick on a wide receiver? And what would it mean for Davante Adams? In What Up, Windbags the guys discuss when they knew Darren Waller checked out, could Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels get fired in different times and is there too much Jimmy Garoppolo love?

Welcome to episode 163 of The Autumn Windbags! Question of the day, if you could be Jimmy Garoppolo for 24 hours what would you do? RJ would inject HGH into every square inch of his body to prevent injury. Soto would comb his hair for 24 straight hours. The Jimmy G Raiders era has officially begun and so has the stories of Jimmy G and the ladies. New tight end Austin Hooper went on @TheVolume to discuss the time he hung out with Jimmy G and how the ladies fought over quarterback. Former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr talked about his most cherished moment during his nine season with the Las Vegas Raiders. The NFL Pro Bowl quarterback said it was the end of the 2021 season when they went to NFL playoffs. The Raiders had to overcome Jon Gruden's firing, Henry Ruggs III car accident and playing for interim head coach Rich Bisaccia. Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis gave some interviews during the NFL owner's meetings in Arizona. Mark Davis insinuates he will give head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler a long leash. Las Vegas Raiders owner Josh McDaniels echoed a lot of what Mark Davis said about planning for long term. Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler spoke about the plan at offensive line. The plan seems to be keeping continuity and not improving with new bodies. But if that's the case, what's the excuse for making no moves on defense? In Raiders news, former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Deandre Carter signed with the raiders. Carter had a career season with the Chargers and was also one of the best punt returners in the league. The Raiders free agency 2023 keeps leaning heavy on skills positions and little else. Will Deandre Carter relace NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Hunter Renfrow as punt returner? In What Up, Windbags, the guys discuss Darren Waller's music, the Raiders future with mark Davis as owner and Jimmy G's hoes in Las Vegas.

Welcome to episode 162 of The Autumn Windbags! New Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is a good looking, ladies' man and sex workers in Las Vegas are taking notice. Two of them released a statement saying the new quarterback gets free sex for life just because he's the Raiders quarterback. Former Raiders general manager Mike Mayock appeared on @PLonNFL and was asked about former Raiders Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller and his move to the New York Raiders. Mayock waxed poetic on his work ethic, love of football and desire to be a good person. The Raiders trade rumors turned out to be true and the raiders were forced to trade him to the Giants, likely because of how much Darren Waller changed. In Raiders free agency, here are all the signings from week two: Austin Hooper, OJ Howard, Cam Sims, Jordan Willis, David Long Jr, Jaquan Johnson and Jermaine Eluemunor. After two weeks of NFL free agency, it looks like Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels are counting on Raiders draft 2023 to fill in a ton of holes on defense. We'll see who the raiders free agent targets will be in the coming weeks. The Raiders depth chart right now looks pretty terrible on defense. Only Maxx Crosby can be counted on to perform. On offense, production will depend on Jimmy Garoppolo staying healthy, Josh Jacobs delivering yet again and the pass catchers like Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow staying healthy. The Las Vegas Raiders cap situation is starting to come together. The offense with big contracts to Jimmy Garaoppolo, Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs is 5th most in the NFL. The defense spends 30th most, even with Maxx Crosby's big contract. Raiders Foster Moreau, their former tight end, announced on Twitter that he has cancer. In What Up, Windbags, the guys discuss should grown men still watch porn, Darren Waller and dollar tree signings.

Episode 161 of The Autumn Windbags! What a great time of the year it is when the NFL calendar year begins. With Jimmy Garoppolo moving to Las Vegas now that he is signed to the Raiders, the question of the day asks which porn star should he start dating? After he was filmed dating a porn star years ago, you know he won't be able to resist now that he is in Sin City. Jimmy G to the Raiders is official. Now that the Windbags had a day to digest the news, they discuss what he brings to Josh McDaniels and the Raiders. With weapons like Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs, he is in a position to succeed. The Las Vegas Raiders traded Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller to the New York Giants receiving a third round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Waller's salary, injury history and play all contributed to the need to move on. Another factor was his supposed beef with Maxx Crosby, Josh McDaniels and the rest of the team. The Raiders trade Waller means multiple things. The NFL is three days into free agency. So far the Raiders have signed Jakobi Meyers, Phillip Dorsett, Robert Spillane, Marcus Epps, Brandon Facyson, Brandon Parker, Jakob Johnson, Jerry Tillery and Roderic Teamer. Three days into free agency, we can start to see what Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler's strategy is with the roster. Marcus Johnson from @tapedontlie has a theory on what they are doing. Former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr opened up about his decision to not accept a trade and to sign with the New Orleans Saints. In What Up, Windbags, the guys discuss drafting a quarterback, will Jimmy G be Jimmy Gag with the raiders and is Soto to sensitive or is RJ too negative?

Episode 160 of The Autumn Windbags coming at you! RJ is in Las Vegas working the Power Slap broadcast which Soto hates! The question of the day is the question half the teams in the NFL are asking themselves: Should Lamar Jackson go to the Raiders? The Baltimore Ravens announced that the Lamar Jackson franchise tag has gone through and the Ravens are looking for trade partners. The non-exclusive franchise tag that Lamar Jackson was placed under means the former NFL MVP can negotiate with any team he wants but the new team will own the Ravens two first round draft picks. What does Lamar Jackson to the Raiders look like? Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL but it will take salary cap flexibility even though the Raiders cap space 2023 is in a pretty good situation. If the Raiders next qb is Lamar Jackson, he will have plenty of weapons in NFL Pro Bowlers Davante Adams, Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs. Who will be the Raiders quarterback in 2023? Derek Carr's brother and NFL Network analyst David Carr went on the family podcast to discuss the fallout from Derek Carr's move to the New Orleans Saints and his exit from the Raiders. They discussed how the Saints went hard after Derek Carr. Why the Raiders should go young with a mobile QB and how Josh McDaniels system works well with young quarterbacks. How the Carr's believe Josh McDaniels is a genius offensively. Plus, how David Carr was cryptic in how he discussed Darren Waller. Raiders Pro Bowlers Maxx Crosby and Darren Waller both got married in Las Vegas the past weekend. The drama comes from two top players of the same team getting married on the same day making teammates and coaches decide which wedding to attend. All the pieces coming together make it sound like Darren Waller may have some troubles and they could be bleeding into the Raiders locker room. In Raiders news today, the Raiders placed All Pro running back Josh Jacobs on the franchise tag. What's the history on Super Bowl winning teams and what they pay their running backs? OJ Simpson released a video trying to recruit Lamar Jackson to the Raiders. Only one What Up, Windbags needed today!!

Episode 159 of The Autumn Windbags! Coming out one day early with RJ traveling for work. You're welcome! Question of the day: with the NFL Combine 2023 going down, we ask you which NFL combine event you would succeed at the most? The NFL Combine 2023 is a gumbo pot of players, coaches, owners, general managers, etc. Josh McDaniels has been making the media rounds at the NFL Combine. If the Raiders draft QB it will be a young player obviously. If Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler look for a veteran, he'll be older. So Josh McDaniels discussed whether he will pursue a young or older quarterback. The only quarterback on the roster currently is Chase Garbers. Josh McDaniels Raiders tenure is off to a rough start going 6-11 a season after the Raiders went 10-7. If the Raiders draft a quarterback, will Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis have the patience to allow Josh McDaniels to develop a young QB. The Raiders have a bunch of weapons to help a young player like NFL Pro Bowlers Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Darren Waller and Josh Jacobs. Former New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham played well in a back up role for the Raiders last season. Stidham is most likely going to be on the Raiders roster next season, but what if he is the week one starter? Raider Nation can't be happy. If the Raiders draft a quarterback in the top 7, they should be expected to start. The raiders have a god problem. NFL Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs had a career season becoming the NFL rushing leader. We are currently in the franchise tag window and the Raiders have yet to tag Jacobs. The Las Vegas raiders have four options: franchise tag and keep, franchise tag and trade, sign to long term deal or let him walk. In Raiders news, former Raiders Pro Bowl fullback Marcel Reese resigned as Raiders Senior VP. Does this signal continued turmoil in the raiders front office. Josh McDaniels was asked about Tom Brady retirement and said he is "at peace" and expects him to stay retired. In What Up, Windbags, the guys discuss crossing the line with Soto, incentive based contracts and flow of the show.

Welcome to episode 158 of The Autumn Windbags! This is the first full week with no NFL with the Super Bowl in the rear view mirror. So the question of the day is, what did you do with your first full weekend with NFL? The guys discuss XFL, old school football and Soto waiting four hours for cotton candy. Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler went on @BussinWithTheBoys to discuss multiple things. The big takeaway was Dave Ziegler saying, "... it doesn’t mean we’re going to have an immediate answer this year (at quarterback." The Windbags discuss if the draft will help, are the Raiders headed to quarterback purgatory and what we can learn from last season. Guest Marcus Johnson from @tapedontlie joined the Windbags! MJ addressed on what Derek Carr did and didn't do well last season and why Derek Carr and Josh McDaniels is a marriage that clearly doesn't work. Marcus Johnson discusses what future for the Raiders at quarterback will look like. The key is going young and keeping NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Davante Adams healthy. Dave Zielger is very good at predicting how a draft will play out so going young is important. Soto asks MJ about Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud and Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. MJ discusses CJ Stroud's ceiling. MJ believes he's a quality quarterback but is his ceiling as high as other prospects? MJ also addresses how much Davante Adams can bring the best out of Anthony Richardson. In free agent quarterbacks, Marcus Johnson discusses the possibilities of Jarret Stidham, Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback. Between Davante Adams, Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs, how do the raiders skill players fit into a pending quarterback. Marcus Johnson thinks the Raiders offensive line can be good this season. He questions Dylan Parham moving around at the line. Andre James at center is still weird. Tom Cable ruined so many things on the line especially Alex Leatherwood. Derek Carr is projected to go to the Jets, Saints or Panthers. MJ thinks he belongs with the Panthers. In What Up, Windbags, the guys look at Mac Jones, Rex Ryan as defensive coordinator and why would Jimmy Garoppolo come to the Raiders?

Welcome to episode 157 of The Autumn Windbags! The question of the day asks: who will take the Raiders first snap of week one next season? The Windbags rank who they think it will be in order of most likely. 1. Jimmy Garoppolo 2. Jarrett Stidham 3. Will Levis 4. Anthony Richardson 5. Aaron Rodgers 6. Other (The field) 7. CJ Stroud 8. Bryce Young 9. Chase Garbers 10. Jacoby Brissett The Las Vegas Raiders, Mark Davis, Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels have officially released NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr. The Raiders were unable to trade Derek Carr and did not get a compensatory pick. What did Dave Ziegler, Josh McDaniels and mark Davis, what did you learn from this Derek Carr experiment? Raiders News: In Las Vegas raiders news, they have the most dead money BUT the third most cap space just behind the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons. The Las Vegas raiders are +4000 to win the Super Bowl next season. You taking that bet? The internet trolled everyone into thinking Mark Davis got a new haircut. Do we like it?
