Episode 1 - It’s the inaugural Midwest Bias episode and in true Speaking of Tangents podcast fashion, the episode went a little long. Kj kicks off this episode by explaining the genesis of the Midwest Bias podcast and its planned structure. Next, it’s time for Questions with the Co-host (4:53) - with the Hall of Famer (HOFer)! They define what constitutes the Midwest, talk the Minnesota Twins and the lowly Boston Red Sox, potlucks, tater tot hot dish, Friday night fish frys, taverns, and tavern sandwiches (?). Later, Kj joins the HOFer to taste some Colorado brews in Taste Test with the Hall of Famer (32:25)! Then, they are joined by this week’s Guest “Expert,” Professor Brad Weiss (@1BradWeiss on Twitter), who brings along his East Coast Bias, plus a splash of West Coast and Midwest Bias (42:40). Brad shares his definition of the Midwest, they answer a listener question about Chicago, and Brad tries to sell us on North Carolina. Music, barbecue, donuts, and ice cream are among the many reasons to visit NC. Thanks, Brad!
A good (central standard) time was had by all! Taste Test with the HOFer unedited companion video (Time code to resume podcast: 37:30) :
