It’s Matt Boldy’s world and the rest of the NHL is just living in it. The Wild’s 21-year-old sophomore forward continued his stretch of dominance with two more multi-goal games, including a hat trick against Seattle. The guys discuss what’s made the line with him Joel Eriksson Ek, and Marcus Johansson click - including where their line stacks up among other lines in the NHL. They also discuss how Marc-Andre Fleury has found new life since sputtering against the Avalanche.
Other topics include prospects and potential future prospects, an NCAA tournament recap, a Minnesota Whitecaps Isobel Cup recap, and answering listener mailbag questions about the playoff lineup, which trade acquisitions could be a given a new contract, and Calen Addison’s future in Minnesota.

Despite games without Kirill Kaprizov, Jared Spurgeon, Jonas Brodin, Jake Middleton, and Marcus Foligno, the Minnesota Wild continue to find ways to win. They went 2-1-0 in their last three games and are 4-1-1 without Kaprizov. On this episode, the guys break down what’s led to success in Kaprizov’s absence, including elevated play from Matt Boldy, depth scoring (especially the 4th line), and Filip Gustavsson returning to form.
Brett also discusses positive regression and whether or not the Wild’s 26-goals-in-6-games offensive explosion is sustainable, lucky, or something else. Other topics include the prospect update, NCAA Tournament preview, and a “Who Am I?” Minnesota Wild player trivia segment.

Another week, another stretch of games where the Minnesota Wild have racked up points in the standings. They collected 5 out of 6 points in their last three games with wins over the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues as well as an overtime loss to the Arizona Coyotes. The guys breakdown the franchise record 14-game point streak including the scoring surge from the Bottom 6 Forwards, a team-first mentality, battling through adversity, overcoming shaky penalty killing, the impact the trade deadline acquisitions have made so far, and of course the chaotic 8-5 win in St. Louis.
Other topics include Marco Rossi, a State Tournament Recap, Bill Guerin’s culture, and if the Wild are poised to make a push to win the Western Conference.

The Wild continue to suffocate teams defensively and shut them out with one of the best penalty kills and goaltending tandems in the NHL. That’s led them on an 11-game point streak where they’ve surrendered just 13 goals. Bill Guerin rewarded this effort by bringing in four new players, three of which have made their Minnesota Wild debuts.
On this episode the guys break down the last three games including the stellar goaltending from Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury, the sudden burst in secondary scoring, and their first impressions of newcomers Marcus Johansson, John Klingberg, and Oskar Sundqvist. They also discuss what they know about the Kirill Kaprizov injury and what an absence could mean for a surging Wild team moving forward.

The Minnesota Wild made an unexpected splash on Trade Deadline Day by sending out Jordan Greenway to the Buffalo Sabres and acquiring C/RW Oskar Sundqvist from the Detroit Red Wings and adding polarizing RD John Klingberg from the Anaheim Ducks in a buzzer-beating shocker. Brett and Zeke discuss the trades, what to expect from each player, where they fit in, and what it means for players like Calen Addison, Alex Goligoski, Jon Merrill, Mason Shaw, Connor Dewar, Ryan Reaves, and Sam Steel. They also ponder the question of what happens when Brock Faber's season at the University of Minnesota is over.

Thanks to Kirill Kaprizov, goaltending, strong team defense, and exceptional special teams, the Minnesota Wild have continued to find ways to win and earn points and make their push in the Western Conference Playoff Race. Bill Guerin pushed more chips in this week acquiring Marcus Johansson and Gustav Nyquist in hopes of bolstering the Wild’s offense. The guys break down the trades and the impact each player could have and whether or not they liked the deals. They also discuss how the additions could throw a wrench in the bottom six forward group with only six spots available for eight forwards, nine come playoff time.
Other topics include the superb defensive play from the Greenway, Gaudreau, Duhaime line; Filip Gustavsson’s continued stellar play, Kaprizov’s best game ever, and what other trades may still be out there, like say, Justin Holl.

Brock Boeser’s agent, Ben Hankinson, has reportedly been in contact with Bill Guerin to bring the Burnsville native back home to Minnesota. The Wild need Top 6 scoring help and Boeser could bring that, but there are a lot of moving parts to any potential deal, especially salary cap wise. The guys break down what type of deal the Wild and Canucks could potentially work out and what players, picks, and/or prospects they’d be willing to include in a potential deal. They also discuss other potential targets including Patrick Kane, Anthony Duclair, and Tyler Bertuzzi.
Other topics include a recap of the Wild’s three-game winning streak that’s been spearheaded by the superb play of Filip Gustavsson. They talk about Adam Beckman’s fit on the 2nd line, Calen Addison’s scratches, the penalty kill, and sudden surge of 5v5 goals.

The Iowa Wild have cooled down, Marat Khusnutdinov hasn’t played in over a week, and the big club continues to be absolutely abysmal and can’t score goals to save their lives. Sprinkle in some questionable coaching decisions, a looming trade deadline, and countless players not living up to their potential, and you have the current state of the Minnesota Wild.
In this episode, we break down all the pressing topics including another oddly-timed Calen Addison scratch; the Gustavsson vs Fleury debate; lack of coaching discipline for Greenway, Steel, Reaves, Dumba, and Merrill; where to play Adam Beckman if he is, in fact, recalled; and finally what type of player the Wild should be at the March 3 Trade Deadline.
