Merry Christmas friends! This is the 3rd annual release of the SarahTalk holiday special, "Holidays for Heathens". It's a sort of History Channel look at the myths, beliefs, and traditions across the ages and all around the Earth that helped form the Winter Solstice celebrations we celebrate today. Always happy to have your feedback and hope everyone has a pleasant, drama-free holiday season, however you choose to celebrate.
Sarah & Becca open their "show gifts" because we are totally impatient. What's happening with the election? What's happening with impeachment? What's the buzz, tell me what's a-happenin'?
It's the episode that meanders all over the road before meeting at Starbucks to launch the War on Christmas 2019.
I don't even know what this is anymore. We're all a mess and it's OK to cry. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Sarah's on vacation, Christmas decorations are going up, the Religious Right is still chipping away at the wall, and we've got an update!
Becca, the kids and I were at FREEFLO, the Freethought Florida conference over the weekend, and I was the emcee. That was an experience! There were also some fun stories that I didn't share on the stage that happened while we were there. Conventions are fun ;)
As always, apologies for all the audio bullshit. The audio that went out to the recording was really hot (on top of all the other problems). I swear I'll get it figured out. Or Vern will, since he's the one that talked me into buying it.

It's a 10-episode series with a very diverse, representative cast, compelling story and musical numbers that will be pitched to Netflix, but they need our help! Sam Young is a father of 6 daughters, a business owner, and has served in various roles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including (but not limited to) bishop, bishopric counselor, ward mission leader, stake public affairs director, and seminary teacher. In the summer of 2017, Sam learned that his daughter was regularly subjected to sexually explicit questions from age 12 to 17 during regular interviews with the bishop of their congregation. These meetings generally happen once or twice a year in a private, closed-door, one-on-one setting where children are asked a series of questions to determine "worthiness". Sam started Protect LDS Children as a movement to influence changes to the policy ensuring that no child ever has to undergo these meetings without another trusted adult in the room.
