As if her career and family didn't keep her busy enough, now she's decided to throw her hat into the ring for a seat in the state legislature in a district she's unlikely to win. She says she's doing it for her kids. But maybe she's also doing for herself.

For us here at Range & Slope HQ, it’s been a year of exploration and discovery. Since we launched the show in July, each of the three of us has produced two stories. Rae gave us a look inside Denver’s tiny home village and local journalism crisis. I found my way to the edge of a nuclear-reactor sized hole and talked A LOT about regional pizza styles.

Back in September, Matthew told us a story about a man and a sporting goods sale. And now he’s back with something completely different. This time on the show, he brings us a story that took him on a journey to the far reaches of the state. This is "Collecting in Good Faith."

Starting in 1954, and for many Labor Day weekends thereafter, the Gart Brothers would throw open their doors and welcome customers with discounted prices on outdoor apparel and winter sporting goods.
