We will use ideas from EveryTown, and some Republican comments and ideas. Joining us is our brother and friend adam from Adam Has A Beard. this is an open discussion and single subject, So I will add information from our note but the order is fluid. Thank you for listening
Some of these ideas are from the every town research site.
https://everytownresearch.org/solution/extreme-risk-laws/
Pick An Org That matches your values
https://giffords.org/action/gun-owners-for-safety/
To me the problem is there is one organization that protects the rights of all gun owners by expanding the definition of gun owner. I think the NRA protects its members and all gun owners by representing the rights of the fringe element in the gun Owner category. Knowing there is another option for sensible gun owners to me is important to highlight. There are good groups that support and defend gun ownership while also being a part of the conversation about gun safety by advocating for their members. Please if you are a NRA member, Consider joining a more ethical version over at Giffords
Extreme Risk Laws - The Red flag laws
When a person is in crisis and considering harming themselves or others, family members and law enforcement are often the first people to see the warning signs. Extreme Risk laws, sometimes referred to as “Red Flag” laws, allow loved ones or law enforcement to intervene by petitioning a court for an order to temporarily prevent someone in crisis from accessing guns.
Close the Charleston Loophole
Under federal law, gun purchases may move forward by default after three business days—even if a background check has not been completed. While 90% of federal background checks are completed in minutes, those that take longer than three business days are four times as likely to be denied.
Block Concealed Carry Reciprocity
Federal concealed carry reciprocity (CCR) legislation would gut state standards for who may carry hidden, loaded handguns in public. CCR would force each state to recognize the concealed carry standards from every other state, even those that have dramatically weaker standards—and those that don’t require any permit at all.
Call it mental Illness/fund accessibility To Health care
People that kill are ill. They are disturbed they are out of the norm and should seek mental health treatment immediately. Anyone that kills must be mental ill. But in the end they must first admit they have a problem, and seek out help.
Background Checks on All Gun Sales
Background checks are the foundation of any comprehensive gun violence prevention strategy. Current federal law requires that background checks be conducted whenever a person attempts to buy a gun from a licensed gun dealer. This is to ensure that the buyer is not legally prohibited from having the gun.
Require Prohibited People to Turn in Their Guns
Requiring people to turn in their guns when they become legally prohibited from having them helps keep guns out of the wrong hands. Under federal law, there is no affirmative requirement that people who are prohibited from having guns turn in firearms that they already have.
Burn some books alter history and remove all grievance
People are getting too much information. They are learning too much and maybe even being indoctrinated into a woke life style that may lead to deviant and radical views. Removing the liberal rhetoric will calm the mind and lower the threat level.
Secure Gun Storage
Gun owners can make their homes and communities safer by storing their guns securely. This means storing them locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition. Securing firearms protects children and adults by preventing unintentional shootings and gun suicides.
Prohibit People With Dangerous Histories From Having Guns
People with dangerous histories should be prohibited from having guns. Federal law prohibits gun possession by certain categories of people. States also set standards for who is too dangerous to have guns. People prohibited by federal or state law will fail a background check if they try to buy a gun from a licensed dealer.
Elect Radical liberal Democrats
Of course the average democrat may say they have a gun and therefore support gun owner rights, but there is a new wave that believes they should take our guns out right. If we can rig the elections before the dumb Republicans we can take everyones guns and keep killing babies for our pedofile death lizard people agenda.
Gun Owner Safety Training
States should require a person to complete safety training prior to purchasing a gun or carrying a gun in public. Training ensures that gun owners are educated on the responsible practices for handling and using firearms, storing them securely at home, as well as carrying guns in public.
Gun Dealer Reform
Laws on how gun stores conduct their business have not been strengthened since the 1960s. Congress should pass comprehensive gun dealer reform.
Smart Guns and Gun Safety Features
A personalized—or “smart”—gun is a firearm that employs authorized-use technology, like the thumb scan or passcode available on many smartphones, to turn stolen guns and guns accessed by children into harmless pieces of steel. If widely implemented, it would be a game-changer for keeping guns out of the hands of children and criminals.
Accept the inevitable
In a country that values and protects gun owner rights. This stuff. Dead kids at school being killed by a kid in body armor. Murders at Memorial Day events, places of worship, even on a bipartisan baseball field. It’s just gong to happen now and then. It’s the price we as Americans pay for our freedoms.
Prohibit Guns in Sensitive Areas
All fifty states and the District of Columbia allow civilians to carry concealed guns in public places. Laws differ in each state, but certain sensitive areas are always unsafe for guns.
Repeal Restrictions on Gun Trace Data
Since 2003, the Tiahrt Amendments have restricted law enforcement’s ability to investigate and prosecute gun crimes. This data-blocking protects corrupt gun dealers and hinders law enforcement.

We will be back this Sunday for another live stream but we are enjoying our vacation. This here is a really great clip show. We’ve met some great folks and had some amazing conversations this year. And this is a chance to catch up and refresh.
From mask mandates to Ukraine. We simply talk. Open conversation allows for imagination rationality and critical lessons in thinking. Looking back at mandates and the resistance to them. Now as we transition to reasonable requests and respect for one another simple agreement is maybe the best idea. Ukraine is still a devastating atrocity war crime a global threat. Is the nuclear threat of black mail a precursor to more nuclear armed countries, and is there a way in this chaos to denuclearize a super power?
Ah! Finally. Lol. When we had had Karin from the EarKickApp on originally to discuss the uses of the app. Jeffrey afterwards was really excited to be able to inject a LGBTIA+ perspective. Through the promotions and time since we never have really had the chance to highlight that conversation. So I am excited now to be able to. Mental Health is important and there are ideas tools and discussions here to help us all address that.
I think I messed with Jeffrey in this clip and that alone cracks me up. Radical monogamy caught my co host of guard and the results are hilarious. Hi Devi! Then we flawlessly transition to a heavier topic. People we know are suffering, We ask a few questions to determine if suicide is a consideration, how to have that conversation and maybe check in on your funny friends.

Jeffrey and Jason are taking a vacation this week and so we humbly present you this clip show.
Clip one Jeffrey and Jason discuss Rick The republicans 11 point plan to make America great again. We think it’s important to vote and support your convictions morals and values. But It’s crucial to understand the new political landscape. There may be two major parties but within those parties are movements. From the Progressive caucus. The moderates, the rhino, and America first. Each movement hold their own policies agenda’s, p[lans and characters. No longer can we simply vote democrat or republican without consequences.
Our second clip. A slow winding road towards a Florida conversation, Why communism fails, Why democracy is better, and why maybe a combination of all forms of government works best. In America we have a luxury of democracy which allows us to vote, elect, support, and suggest ideas that move us toward a better functioning government. We need our government to protect our borders, enforce our freedoms and rights as a people, and stand for and promote our version of Democracy, but The nuance is our conversations
Our third clip Is a fun one. We usually stick to topics and stories based on actual stuff but today we dive into ghosts aliens the universe and things we don’t usually dive into. We have fun, and advocate. So thank you for listening. Enjoy your days off.

The 11 Point Plan: To Rescue America
What Americans must do to save “this” country
By Republican Florida Senator Rick Scott
“Americans deserve to know what we will do when given the chance to govern.”
And so today we will learn. In this episode we will be discussing bullet points of the new Republican agenda as made official recently by Senator Rick Scott. Please understand that the horrors of each point were not fully examined and that we will certainly dive in deeper to each point more in future episodes. If one or more of the points we discuss catches your attention, If you think we are exaggerating, Or if you would like to learn more to help us expand on these points to create a broader view of this new official Republican agenda. We have in all fairness transparency and disclosure shared the very official Rick Scott link above.

Homelessness, isolation, abuse, good people in bad times helping other good people in bad times. It’s all just normal. It’s all reliant on people leaning on people because the system set up to oppress has few resources of compassion to lift and support those good people. Life is hard, and hard shouldn’t be the normal. The pandemic highlighted many things, but the underlying conditions that have held together, have fractured at a human level. Let’s work on that.

We are here for you, well no. We are also on holiday break, but, We’ve used that time to bring you some of our favorite moments from some of the great conversations we’ve share with some great folks in and around our network. Our goal is long form conversation that creates empathy and understanding.
Devi is an informed educated disabled voice of reason in our network and would love to join for the big topics. They have helped me with gender understanding, pronouns, CSA, sex work advocacy, and of course as everyone in our network, humanism. In this clip we talk about all of that as it relates to being in a relationship. Devi is one of my favorite guests, correspondence, and friends so please enjoy
Our next clip is a very special clip from a now dead podcast from Texas. Mari joined Joe and I to allow us to get to now her and I’ve loved this episode since. Mari creates and performs, choir ensembles and advocacy by combining poems of oppression and tones of beauty. Mari is also a strong proponent of transgender rights and understanding. Here she offers us a quick list of do’s and don’ts in verbiage before discussing the joy she finds in her work.
We end on a clip that when you first start listening doesn’t seem to fit. Katelyn, Why, and Brittney from our very own Inspirations Beyond Disabilities host one of my favorite folks on the planet. Daisy is visually impaired yes, but has more vision and comfortableness with everything they advocate for. They are simply them, and I adore that. With a giant smile, and a sureness in direction, folks like Daisy will take over the world. I hope. The group discusses pronouns, race, fluidity in gender, and a lot more. I’m just so proud of them, and consider myself lucky to have them all as friends.
So. Thank you for listening. You are a very wise person and fan. You already know, but for new friends I want to say. Our content is not always for you to identify with but more for us all to hear. It’s meant to be a safe place for conversation, No judgement, no prejudice, no hate. People deserve, each individual, the freedom to be. The freedom to live, and the freedoms to do that in the best way possible for them. If we were all like you, you wouldn’t be unique and so we encourage promote, and seek out perspectives that further that conversation. Now that you’ve heard, you’ve learned, Or you’ve heard and related but hope to hear a follow up expansion. We are looking for you. Thank you again. You are very cool.

Jason and Jeffrey took some time off from the podcast to enjoy the holidays. Still with all of the great conversations we’ve had and all of the extra stuff we get. I thought it would be nice to share some clips.
We had Adam, from Adam Has A Beard, join us along with Corbin, from The Peace and Purpose Podcast to just do a get to know you show. I like to start off the discussion with something light and general to help everyone feel comfortable with one another, but the funny thing is. They were already pretty comfortable. We were going to start with some memorable 2021 moments, and thanks to tangents, ended up with Tony Romo, and football. This clip was edited out of the Episode. How Do I Fix Me.
Then I wanted to share from the latest conversation of Inspirations Beyond Disabilities. Belle (My.Eyes.Ohara) stopped in the live stream studio to chat with Xhy, Jay, and assistant producer Ezrick. What I love is this groups ability to discuss honest and open topics with sarcasm, humor, and authority. From canes and guide dogs to education and weird lighting. IBD always brings some amazing discussions. Bella is a social media influencer and is best known for her Tie Tok videos featuring Ohara her taste testing guide dog. Please think about subscribing to IBD if you get a chance.

This is what I hoped this would be. Thank you Corbin Adam, and Jeffrey. Conversation is hard. It takes practise. No one is great instantly, and what you’re hearing is a collective sixteen years of podcasting experience in thinking, communicating, listening, and driving toward meaningful results from a open and honest discussion. I’m honestly not sure we developed many answers in this episode but what I did find amazing and unique is the disaplans used to meet the topic.Turns out. All four of us have the exact same question. “But how do I fix me?” “How can I be self aware enough to acknowledge what is a fault or is a character trait?” Who am I? and and is that I good?”

Climate change work safety, food security, immigration, human rights, and corporate accountability. Today we are discussing the treatment of the people harvesting a majority of our food. The farmworker
The topic and article used for reference are from United Farm Workers @UFWupdates. Please follow them on Twitter for daily updates. As well @NIJC and @WelcomeWDignity or follow us @PublicAccessPod for retweets from all and more. Thank you to Jeffrey and Adam for seeing the importance of highlighting this topic and bring their unique experiences to it.
Public Access America often is the beginning of becoming informed. The topics we cover matter at a human level and each may touch someone differently depending. Please continue learning about the topics we mention that touch you.
I think that before we talk about our topic we need to first discuss our work environment. How our employer protects and provides for us as well as the compensation they return to us for the work we do, which allows us to provide for ourselves and our families but also ensures we have the ability to protect ourselves beyond what a company is required to provide under law.
Safety equipment and personal protective gear can be cumbersome and often increases the affects of heat. Boots vests guards, masks, safety glasses. Helmets. All requirements that protect us but that also contribute to heat fatigue
But in this we have mitigations we use to combat heat exhaustion. While water may be provided we have the money and access to more options that ensure we remain hydrated. We have an ability to communicate if need be to a supervisor or manager if we suddenly feel overwhelmed by heat fatigue. We get breaks which include a cooler place or air conditioning which can also be available in case of emergency. We at the end of the day get to go home to a more comfortable environment that doesn’t extend the affects of heat fatigue or exhaustion. And importantly. We have medical insurance to turn to and a knowledge of our rights as well as the ability to reference the internet to find out who to contact about any grievance we might have
Farmworkers have none of that. And yet these are the people we rely on for our food. The people we politically demonize for coming here to work in these fields, The people that are dying yearly in the conditions of these fields, People with no voice, no legal statues and no protections.
That deserves a conversation
‘Temperatures continue to rise and farmworkers continue to be at risk’
https://thecounter.org/temperatures-continue-rise-farmworkers-continue-risk-heat-death-osha/
Farmworkers, who are mostly foreign-born and undocumented, are at a unique disadvantage from heat-related illnesses. Because of their immigration status, many workers often don’t complain about poor working conditions, such as lack of air conditioning or access to water, that complicate the risk of extreme heat. As they perform the manual labor of weeding, picking, carrying and processing the U.S.’s fruits and vegetables in sweltering conditions, climate change is expected to endanger them further.
65 Farmworkers have died in the past 19 years due to extreme heat on the job
4 farmworkers a year die due to extreme heat on the job
A farmworker dies every 3 months due to extreme heat
Farmworker deaths due to heat account for about a sixth of all heat-related workplace deaths
Farmworkers die at a rate nearly 20 times that of all U.S. workers.
High temps disproportionately affect farmworkers: But why?
Are the people working the farms just weak?
Are the working conditions just extreme?
The minimum hourly rate for workers on H-2A visas averages around $14 across the country,
Is $112 a day alone enough?
Does the employer even have to think about or invest in better or human working conditions? Legally and or morally?
Is this regulated or are farmworkers protected in some way by law or agency?
Are white people allowed to apply for farmworker positions? If no. Why?
If yes. Why are people complaining about people taking their jobs instead of taking the jobs?
The U.S. Department of Labor
announced OSHA would prioritize heat-related complaints. This year
The median amount OSHA fined the employers whose farmworkers died was $4,000
Some cases remain open, but in 17 cases involving a death, OSHA did not fine the employer.
The median fine of $4,000 for the deaths of farmworkers was more than double that for all industries,
the highest fine for a heat-related death was more than $250,000.
The federal government has known heat stress is an occupational hazard for decades.
In 1972, the CDC’s National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, recommended a requirement for employers to protect their workers from heat stress, But OSHA didn’t adopt a standard then, nor did it do so in response to similar NIOSH recommendations in 1986 and 2016.
Iris Figueroa,
“…we also are hoping to see some progress and some real tangible developments” — such as paid breaks and access to shade and water
Extreme temperatures are killing farm workers — and it's 'entirely preventable,' labor advocates say. They want Democratic governors to do something about it.
https://www.businessinsider.com/extreme-temps-kill-farm-workers-democrats-urged-to-act-2021-10
Labor advocates are urging Western states ravaged by heat waves and wildfires to act in concert to develop better protections for workers, arguing that a changing climate — and increasingly common extreme weather — demands a unified response.
The initiative, led by the United Farm Workers, calls on the Democratic governors of California, Oregon, and Washington to "adopt consistent heat and wildfire smoke protection standards" to ensure that a largely immigrant workforce is not forced to navigate a patchwork of regulation.
