Podtips 13 - Reducing Echo
00:23:33
Today's episode was inspired by a question from Matthew Moore about easy wins for recording at home, and focused on how to manage echo and vocal reflection. This includes fun techniques such as building a fort as a grown up, hiring someone to hold blankets for you, and not podcasting in the bath. As well as thinking about Chris in his pants and Ant in an 80's tracksuit.

PodTips11 - Using Facebook Adverts to grow my Podcast
00:19:10
Our question this week from Harry Morgan was about whether or not to use Facebook Adverts to grow your Podcast audience.
There are advantages and disadvantages to doing this and we go through the different ways, as well as my top tip to save yourself money and convert successfully with online advertising.
To learn about the Facebook Pixel and using it for podcasting listen to this episode.
We recommended also trying all the other ways of growing a podcast first, and if you have some money to spend maybe try hiring a VA to do all of these promotional tasks for you. We recommend EmilyVA, over at http://emilyva.com/
The question today came from Harry Morgan from the Jog On Podcast. We've known Harry for many years and he is the real deal when it comes to running and his podcast is excellent. Check it out over at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/jog-on/id1212924895?mt=2

The best way to save yourself time when editing is to improve your recording quality. Saving yourself the need to edit out background noises, echoes and annoying microphone noises.
Our question this week came from Victor who asked for tips on getting better recordings. In this episode we talk about: microphone technique, recording spaces, sound proofing, editing techniques for noise, annoying notifications, vocal ticks, and that annoying tutting noise.
Bonus: Interview with Matt Fidler from Very Bad Words
00:40:12
In our latest episode of PodTips we spoke about swearing in podcasts, if you haven't checked that out go back and listen to that first.
We pulled out some excellent questions from this interview with Matt Fidler from Very Bad Words, for that episode. However we chatted to Matt for ages and it was an awesome chat, so here it is as a full bonus episode.
Season 2 of Very Bad Words is out on March 14th. Check out Season 1 at http://verybadwords.com
Full episode of PodTips returns next Tuesday.

This weeks question comes from PodStuffPod who asked:
"Is there a way to tag just certain episodes as explicit?"
So we answered this question in 60 seconds and then continued to talk about swearing in podcasts and looked at if it does effect your show's listing, being featured as well as many other things.
We also managed to grab an interview with Matt Fidler of Very Bad Words Podcast.
PodTips07 - Should I have a co-host on my podcast?
00:26:03
This weeks question comes from Katy Barber who asks:
"Should I have a co-host on my podcast?"
We go down many routes with this, and for this episode we recorded live from a pub in London, just before a podcasters meetup we were hosting.
In this new series PodTips; we take questions from you the podcasting community and answer them within 60 seconds. If you want to take action after that point great, if you want to stick around after for more discussion, tips and tools; then that's great too!
