Submit ReviewIn this week's episode of Part-Time Characters, the gang gets together to talk about some Netflix originals, like Voltron: Legendary Defender, Disenchantment and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.
Things start off with a discussion about Matt Groening’s new animated fantasy-adventure, Disenchantment. Bridget’s only seen a few episodes, and Maria and Adonis do their best to keep her interest piqued, but they aren’t exactly the biggest fans either. They’re all hopeful for the future though.
Next up is the Netflix original series Voltron: Legendary Defender. Adonis geeks out about the show and tries to contain his excitement for the fact that he managed to get Bridget to watch one of his recommendations. Even if she mainly focuses on the background.
The final segment of the episode is dedicated to the Netflix original movie To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Adonis and Bridget enjoyed the film, but Maria was a little less impressed with its pretty familiar plot and characters. However, she did appreciate Noah Centineo’s stellar Mark Ruffalo impression.

It's been a while since we've uploaded an episode but we are back in full force! Since there hasn't been anything interesting in theaters for the past few weeks, we decided to just sit down, talk and record. The results were... interesting.
Our unscripted episode covers a wide range of topics, from Maria's opinion of Vin Diesel to Adonis's strange Netflix selection, to Bridget's love of Shark Week.
We didn't have a particulat topic in mind so we just decided to talk about movies, our current watches on Netflix, science, movie trailers from ComiCon and so much more. You will not be a smarter person after this episode.
Question of the week: Do you like the idea of unscripted episodes? Let us know on Twitter or Facebook!

In this week's episode of Part-Time Characters, the girls get together to talk about the latest summer sequels, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Sicario Day of the Soldado. Funnily enough, they both give the same rating to these two very different movies.
Bridget takes over the Marvel part of the podcast as she reviews Ant-Man and the Wasp, starring Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp. They discuss why Marvel decided to release Ant Man after Infinity War and not before. Will this affect people's opinion of the movie? Also, everyone loves Evangeline Lilly.
For a brief segment of Bridget's Science Corner, Bridget explains the science behind Giant Man (get it?) and why he shouldn't be as strong as they portray him.
The second half of the episode is dedicated Sicario Day of the Soldado and Maria's opinion of the sequel no one asked for. While Bridget didn't care much for the original Sicario, Maria loves it but doesn't understand why they would try to create a sequel or a spinoff to Villeneuve's movie.
The episode ends with a comeback of Netflix recommendations. It's hard enough to decide what to watch and the Part-Timers want to help by recommending an animated series and a music/travel documentary.
Question of the week: What do you think about all these summer sequels?

It's been a summer of awaited sequels and the past few weeks we got Jurassic:World Fallen Kingdom, the second installment of the Jurassic World franchise, and Incredibles 2, fourteen years after The Incredibles was released.
In this week's episode of Part-Time Characters, the characters and our special guest, Jerry Rodriguez, have a lot to say. Are we getting the sequels we deserve? Did we even need any of these sequels? We start off by discussing our love for the original Jurassic Park and how we feel about this glossy reboot. Then we review Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Warning! There is quite a lot of spoiler talk but we do our best to mark the time frames for each spoiler.
The second half of the episode is dedicaded to Pixar's Incredibles 2. Bridget has a lot to say for the awaited sequel. Is this really the best they can give us after fourteen years? How come no one remembers Jack Jack bursting into? Does Dash even have a story in this movie? Again, spoiler alert very close to the end. Sadly, there really isn't much to spoil because the movie is incredibly predictable.
Question of the week: Are any of these high budget sequels worth it?
Silly question of the week: George RR Martin or JRR Tolkien?

This week Part-Time Characters goes back in time to review some classic horror/supernatural movies. We did our best to keep a brave face. It's another special episode of Retro Reviews, where we each pick a movie we haven't seen but we have been meaning to watch for quite some time. Then we all discuss them and decide if they live up to the hype.
One of us watched the original Ghosbusters, a perfect blend of comedy and horror, but they were less than impressed by it. Can you guess who it was? Then we discuss a major horror film that came out in the early 2000s, The Others. If this movie didn't make you keep the lights on at night, you are immune to ghosts and anything supernatural. Last but not least, we review a 70s cult classic, Suspiria. With the remake just announced last week with a teaser trailer, we decided to check out the original film and boy, it's a lot of fake blood, red velvet and dubbed dialogue.
Question of the Week: What supernatural movie scared the life outta you?
Adonis's Question: Playstation or Xbox?

We. Are. Back! After a very long break, Part-Time Characters is back and ready to talk about new movie releases, Netflix recommendations and pop culture. We decided to start with a bang and talk about Star Wars latest attempt, Solo: A Star Wars Movie. Joined by Bridget and Adonis, we talk about our new Han Solo, the terrible way he got his name, the new characters and how Donald Glover is annoyingly great at everything he does. How did you feel about the Solo movie? Don’t forget to tell us in the comment section!
We have been gone for five months and we wanted to start out slow. That is why we decided to post an episode every other week. That way we can concentrate on making good content and once we find our footing, we will gradually increase to releasing episodes weekly. We are also open to suggestions and any topics you might want to hear us talk about. Don’t forget to email us with any of your ideas.
Question of the Week: Do you think Disney is overdoing the Star Wars movies? What anthology movie do you want to see from Star Wars?

With so much to choose from, it's hard to sit down and pick one Netflix series that's worth watching. Not to worry! Hopefully Part-Time Characters can help with any indecisiveness. While Maria works the solo shift in this fictional video store, recurring guest and video store client, Jerry Rodriguez, joins this week's episode to talk about Netflix shows and specials that are worth a try.
We start off with a brand new Netflix Original, Godzilla, a computer animated film about humanity reconquering planet Earth from the kaijus. After some lukewarm feelings about Part I from the series, we move on to Dave Chappelle's latest special, Equanimity The Bird Revelation. We discuss our unanimous love for GLOW and then spent way too much time on the German Sci-fi series Dark (be warned: full on spoilers with this one).
Jerry tried a few shows he had never seen before like Chewing Gum and The Good Place. He enjoyed only one out of those. Then I finish off the episode by talking about the latest season of Black Mirror and my new favorite animated series, Big Mouth.
Question of the Week: What are your current favorite Netflix Shows?

Nobody likes to go to the movies in January. Apart from the Oscar Nominations that have expanded their release, there is just a lot of random horror movies and terrible romantic comedies. In this week's episode, we talk about all the January movies we hate and some that didn't disappoint.
In our first episode of 2018 and we are back discussing some things we have watched during our holiday break and our opinions about the Disney-Fox deal and the repercussions it might create.
We start off talking about our Christmas break what we have been up to. We also briefly pick our favorite holiday foods and traditions. This is when we all realize Adonis has never had the distinct pleasure of tasting Baileys.
After we each discuss the movies and series we have been watching, we talk about the Disney-Fox deal and what it means for the future of the movie industry. While many are excited because X-Men will finally share the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the consequences of this merger will change the industry as we know it.
Question of the Week: What is your favorite holiday meal? Is the Disney-Fox deal a good thing or a bad thing?

It is the end of 2017. It is time for fresh starts and welcoming 2018 with open arms. But before we could do that, Part-Time Characters wanted to take a trip down memory lane. This week's episode is a special holiday treat where our listeners get to hear all of the mistakes we make before the final edit is done.
The episode includes all the outtakes and laughs we had throughout 2017. You will hear all of Sam's sketch ideas for Gandalf the Wizard, Adonis's attempt to roast a meat and Bridget's Long Island and New Jersey accents.
There will also be some uncensored cursing brought on by frutrating video games, loud neighbors and mosquitoes.
We hope you enjoy our last episode of the year and you laugh as much as we did when we weren't 'on'. Happy New Year to all of you, Part-Timers!
