Ally is in the final round of interviews for her dream job, but it would require her to leave the city. And she hasn’t told anyone about that possibility. Her fear triggers a spur-of-the-moment tour around the city for Samuel, full of flashbacks and esoteric sight-seeing.

Cam has gotten what he’s always wanted: Internet fame! Of course, that glow is short-lived as his short-tempered boss gives him way too much responsibility. Gillian is furious at him for using their lives as content, and Lydia won’t talk to him because he may or may not have been flirting with her while he was drunk the night before.

Gillian and Ashley have sent out their wedding invitations and Cam didn’t get one. Instead of asking them if his invite got lost in the mail, he follows Ally into work and drinks. Luckily, it’s the Road to El Dorado bar crawl, so there are plenty of bros dressed up as cartoonish Spaniards to drink with.

Samuel has finally pushed himself into following his dream of writing for a TV show… but that doesn’t mean he can’t procrastinate to an unholy degree. On his way to a coffee shop to write, he’s distracted by the magnetic and devious Nessie MacLean, the CEO of a startup that turns trains into co-working spaces. Cam and Ally have to save Samuel, but does really he need to be saved? Yes, yes he does.

Cam and Ally are unsure about what Samuel does for work, which only seems more strange when Samuel pays for three months of rent at once. This leads to an involved heist as Ally distracts Samuel with a getting-to-know-you dinner at notorious Italian restaurant Joey Pepperoni’s Pasta Explosion while Cam calls in old-roommate-and-recently-never-there Gillian to break into Samuel’s computer.

Now that Cam and Ally have secured recent city transplant and sweet weirdo Samuel Clemens as their roommate, they can get back to doing what they do best: making fools of themselves. Ally flirts with a train conductor who makes overly familiar PA announcements, and Cam bonds with a woman on the train about how much they hate those overly familiar train PA announcements.
