Submit ReviewMay Pang joins My Rock Moment for a candid interview ahead of the premiere of her documentary, THE LOST WEEKEND: A LOVE STORY, in theaters April 13th.
THE LOST WEEKEND: A LOVE STORY, is May Pang’s story, which is aptly described as “a weekend that lasted 18 months and a love story that took 50 years to tell.”
During their relationship, Lennon reunited with his son Julian and enjoyed his most artistically and commercially productive period post-Beatles—with the albums "Mind Games”, "Walls and Bridges" which included his only #1 Hit Single "Whatever Gets You Through the Night", "Rock and Roll”, and collaboration with Rock legends Elton John, David Bowie, Harry Nilsson, Mick Jagger, and Ringo, among others. Pang chronicles it all revisiting her younger self, as a naïve 22-year-old experiencing her first unforgettable love.
In this episode, May discusses the making of the film and recounts her time as a young woman trying to navigate the trappings of fame, rockstars behaving badly and the marriage that Lennon left behind.

Love was a groundbreaking interracial band that came out of LA in the mid-60s. They dominated the Sunset Strip with their psychedelic sound and rock 'n' roll style. And it's well documented that The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and of course, The Doors, all found inspiration in Love's music.
In this episode of My Rock Moment we sit down with Johnny Echols, co-founder and guitarist of the band. We discuss his early life as a musician, drawing inspiration from Little Richard, The Coasters and eventually, The Beatles. Johnny tells us about an encounter with Lou Adler and how it moved the band to change their name to Love. And he shares stories about Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison as well as the making of their seminal album, Forever Changes.

David Leaf is an award winning writer, producer and director and the creative visionary behind such critically acclaimed films as The U.S. vs. John Lennon, The Bee Gees: This Is Where I Came In and Beautiful Dreamer: Brian Wilson and the Story of SMiLE. But he’s also a dear friend of Brian Wilson’s. This was a friendship crafted through David's work on the 1978 book "The Beach Boys and the California Myth." David moved to LA in the mid-70s with the intention of writing a book that told the real story of Brian Wilson at a time of much public misunderstanding for the Beach Boy. The 3rd edition of the book titled "God Only Knows: The Story of Brian Wilson, The Beach Boys and the California Myth" is now available and it celebrates the close friendship David and Brian have cultivated since the first edition, the music Brian created as a solo artist, and it provides that happy ending that the 1st edition could not.
We deep dive into Brian Wilson’s solo career and the making and much-anticipated release of the album SMiLE. We’ll also talk about some of his favorite rock moments throughout the years with The Bee Gees, Yoko Ono and Frank Sinatra.
