This is another one of our well-known mindset episodes for how to think about investing. Kirk and Doug rip apart some commonly "known" principals of investing that you see everyday in the investing community.
If you didn't know any better you would think the investing community was a bunch of fortune telling gypsies. Maybe they are... It would explain all the tarot cards I found laying around in the CNBC greenroom.

Deflation Ahead!
No... We are not nuts. Most people are yelling and screaming about inflation. So why are we yelling about deflation?
Here's the scoop.
We have received our share of hate mail over the past few weeks since we came out with the claim that we may experience deflation by year end. Most of the messages were angry that we changed our mind. Yet, not one person has refuted our claim with any solid argument.
Its important to understand this point. Inflation and deflation can exist at the same time. The only difference is your point of view and what you are measuring. However once you understand why we are saying deflation could happen by year end, it will all make sense. Join us this week where we further discuss our thesis on deflation.
Its Valentine's day... Send us you love... send us your hate... Just send us something with your thoughts. Cheers

The composition of the CPI in the US:
Tesla dropping prices is deflationary... So is the drop in housing prices, drop in energy, and other areas which are bound to happen soon. We don't have stagflation yet... but it coming.

Don't Fight The Fed... How many times have we heard that phrase.
Yet people never seem to listen. This week Powell said get out of my way. I'm fighting inflation like Volker. Inflation (via CPI) is still high at 7.1% but lower than last month and lower than expected. But still a far cry from the 4.25-4.5% Fed funds rate.

This is not a joke. We have serious problems with our energy needs. Where we are now and where we want to be are miles apart and no amount of money, tax credits, and attacking other countries will solve it.
While we all want a cleaner planet, that can only happen decades from now. If we try to speed up the process, it will bankrupt poor and middle class people. The only bridge is "big oil" and nat gas. You don't have to like my opinion, but its the truth.
Facts don't lie... narratives do.
This week we will be discussing this enormous paradigm shift within the inflation paradigm shift. is your head spinning yet? sorry.
This is one of the most important trends right now and the politicians are doing their job of doing the exact opposite of the right thing. This will cause blackouts, recessions and bankruptcies.
Things could easily turn around with rational policies, but that trends is not there.
Join us this week to discuss this enormous trend and how it will impact your wealth and health.

Do you still think bonds are safe? After a year of bonds getting crushed along with stocks, you might think bonds are no longer safe. Well... They never were "safe". Now that everyone knows that, what should you do next?
This week we discuss investing in bonds and how you should think about the impact of inflation on bonds for your portfolio. I think this is the first time in years that I have starting to look at bonds for portfolios. The key word is "starting" to look. We are getting to a point where things are getting interesting in bonds, but you still have to be careful.

It is amazing. The FTX Crash has caught most people off guard and many celebrities lost money too. There is word that it is one big ponzi scheme with politicians, slush funds, celebrity endorsers, and trying to expatriate SBF back to the US to face justice. This is the stuff that is Michael Lewis will be writing about in the big Short 2 (which apparently he has been embedded for the past 6 months with SBF).
I do find it odd that I have not heard anyone screaming for his arrest yet. They got Bernie Madoff quickly. Why not this guy? Is there more to come? It is still too early to know all the details, but the initial reports are riveting... of course it could also be fake news.

Well, not so fast. Inflation is still coming in at 7.7% (which is high) and one data point does not make a trend. Inflation should drop a bit from here, but we are not out of the woods. This week we discuss what is going on with the new inflation numbers, housing data, FTX and more.

Yes I said it. Inflation is more dangerous than WW3. Don't believe me?
Did you live through the 1970s inflation? what about the 1920s in Germany? or 2008 inflation in Zimbabwe, or Venezuela right now?
If you look at history (or the present) you will notice that hyperinflation destroys not only the economy, but the country. The German 1920 hyperinflation is one of the factors that led to WW2. We lay out the entire thesis during the show this week and why you need to be prepared. Join us to learn more.

Oil price inflation is back...
OPEC has decided to go against the US and the US is losing. Maybe The White House should not have used the strategic petroleum reserves for political gain in November. Oil price inflation will be back with a vengeance this winter. Stock up now. At least we are not living in Germany. The Russians may be losing in Ukraine, but they played this hand well. The only one to upstage Russia/OPEC is the Onion who filed an Amacus brief with the US Supreme court... Well played sirs... Well played.
The Bank of England is having big problems as well, and very little has to do with the new PM, Liz truss. I only mention England because the Bank of England had to intervene in the markets this week. But they are not alone with problems.

Value investing has been in the dog house for the past 20 years. You needed an iron stomach to stick with it when it under performed for 2 decades. However, not everyone suffered.

Are you looking to increase the yield on your dividend stocks? Are you aware there are stocks outside of the US? While we all know we can buy stocks in other countries, most do not. This is not a US-centric problem. Home country bias is a global bias. We all inherently follow Peter Lynch by investing in what we know. However this limits you to opportunities and lowers your potential dividend yield. Global dividends are a great way to enhance your income on investments if you know what you are doing. We discuss how you can do that.
