on December 15, 1967 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia - the entire 1460-foot suspended portion of the Silver Bridge collapsed into the river, taking with it 32 vehicles and 46 victims. However, something happened in Point Pleasant not long before the bridge collapsed. Something that - to some - was the most terrifying and strange series of events they have ever experienced and - to others - was a really fun hoax with real world explanations. In Stewartstown, PA there is a place called Rehmeyers Hollow where tales of hexerie, curses, witches, murders and hauntings are still told today. However, Well known among these pow wowers was a man named John Blymire. His alleged feats of magic include curing a dog of rabies and he was generally known for having fantastic luck. Luck is a random unprejudiced thing and as it always does, it ran out for Blymire.Bad fortune befell him, and of course, in this worldview in which a rabid dog could be cured with some magical words, this bad luck was seen as the work of an evil doer who was hexing him.
