Submit ReviewHello and welcome to episode 39 of Crate Diggers!
We’re a music / interview podcast hosted by Portland DJ, Verbz using vinyl to get to know artists and other cool people. Episode 39 features the coolest of peoples, comedian and podcaster, April Richardson. She’s a veteran point-getter on Comedy Central‘s influential @midnight and a professional shade thrower on Chelsea Lately. Her podcast Go Bayside! is the quintessential Saved By The Bell podcast. April also happens to be a passionate music fan and collector; making her the perfect guest for Crate Diggers. April put together a playlist of some of her favorite songs, we pulled together some vinyl, and she sent us some mp3s of the most obscure tracks we’ve ever featured on the show.
This episode was recorded live at Kelly’s Olympian in Portland, OR. Huge thank you to Kelly’s Olympian for their hospitality and recording and another huge thank you to April for taking time out of her trip to talk music with us. Don’t forget to check out her new podcast with her best friend Millie De Chirico, Sordid Details.

Hello and welcome to episode 38 of Crate Diggers, a music and interview podcast using vinyl records as a jumping off point for conversations between artists and other cool people. Hosted by Portland DJ, Verbz and engineered by his brother Steez, the Crate Diggers podcast is a Space Gods production.
Episode 38 of Crate Diggers features a beloved Portland rap nomad, Myke Bogan of EYRST records. Myke Bogan, coming off the release of his album bogan.bandcamp.com/album/pool-party">Pool Party, is consistently lauded as one of the most talented artists to claim Portland. A product of the various locales and lives he’s lead from a stand-out athlete at the University of South Dakota, to his days in a Rose City chronic cloud, to his life as an artist on the rise in LA; Myke Bogan put together a playlist of music that has inspired him at different stages of his life. As a show that has prided itself on eclectic playlists, Myke might have put together the most diverse mix of music to date with songs by Blink 182 and Nirvana to Drake and Biggie. Special thank you to EYRST records for having us in their studio.

Hello and welcome to episode 37 of Crate Diggers!
Crate Diggers is a music and interview podcast using vinyl records as a jumping off point for conversations between artists and other cool people. Hosted by Portland DJ, Verbz and engineered by his brother, hip-hop producer, Steez.
Episode 37 is another installment of Crate Diggers Live, a live show at Kelly’s Olympian in downtown Portland. Episode 37 features rapper / activist, Glenn Waco. He’s been a strong voice of leadership in Portland for several years as well as a stand out artist. Check out his latest video “Assata” for a taste of his vision and infectious rhymes. This episode features a playlist of music chosen by Glenn Waco. The songs all influenced his life and music style. The second part of the show features a live performance by Glenn Waco and features from Rasheed Jamal and past Crate Diggers guest, Samarei. Sadly, there was an issue with the recording that started near the beginning of the performance. Steez attempted to salvage the audio from a large portion of the show but was unable to fix the issues as each track contains popping throughout. We’ve condensed the incredible live performance down to just a small portion of the show. We apologize to Glenn and our audience for the issues as his performance was as dynamic as we’ve seen on our stage. Another reason to never miss a live show!
Thank you Glenn Waco, Rasheed Jamal, Samarei, and the countless incredible artists and friends in the building for the live show.

Welcome to 2017, Crate Diggers!
We’re back to start the year with another one of Portland’s very best artists. As the Rose City’s strongest year in hip-hop comes to a close, you’d be hard-pressed to find an artist that had a better year than The Last Artful, Dodgr. From her manifested appearance on hip-hop staple Sway Calloway’s The Wake Up Show to her memorable appearance with Portland’s other breakout hip-hop star, Aminé performing a special live version of “Caroline” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, to her infectious single “Squadron“, Dodgr smashed 2016. Look for her album Bone Music in early 2017.
The Last Artful, Dodgr is a product of LA but found a home and good people in Portland. She’s smart, funny, and confident with a deep appreciation of an eclectic variety of music. Episode 31 features a playlist created by Dodgr focusing her hip-hop influences from Lauryn Hill, to TLC, Missy Elliot, and Ludacris. Follow her now before she’s all over the Billboard and your radio waves.
