Get ready for some watery beer and new friends! Steph, aka @Miss_Tipsysocks, is coming to party with Flex and Greg on Craft Beer Republic. We’re talking about miserable beer fest experiences, making drunk purchases, why wine-drunk is just classier, old-timey train robberies, and getting drunk with Florida politicians.

Greg is back from Lagerville, aka Waterville, and has a full report on the misery of rainy beerfests. There were also some drunk injuries involved, and day-after wine tasting. This week on Craft Beer Republic, Greg and Flex are conducting some beer science, learning about getting pants drunk, drinking REALLY old beer, discussing the proper taco, and taking a trip down south to hang out with Floridaman.

Greg is drinking Juce = Juce, a collaboration Hazy IPA from Great Notion and Equilibrium Brewing. Flex is sipping on an old Berliner from Eagle Park Brewing (no surprise).

The former Dark Horse owner is facing jail time if he doesn’t pay back his staff. Sazerac is buying BuzzBalls, the really weirdly shaped RTD drinks. A judge sides with Constellation in the battle of the seltzers with AB InBev. An airline pilot receives jail time for showing up to work drunk. And Floridaman is at it again, molesting a manatee statue and throwing gator nugs at innocent bystanders.

Who needs a beer to themselves? How about 7? This week on Craft Beer Republic, Flex and Greg are talking about their Easter drinking situations, when to teach your kids about beer flights, participating in Pink Boots collab days, the upcoming WrestleMania weekend, drinks to-go, Blue Moon ruining the eclipse, and taking a drunk swim with your car.

Greg and his wife, with a bunch of other beer friends, were invited to Pedals & Pints Brewing (thanks, Monica!) to participate in their Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day. We’re both talking about our Easter adventures. Flex pre-gamed his Easter a couple days early and is a better man for it. Greg started the day with some edibles and quickly classed things up from there. And, of course, a quick “looking forward” to WrestleMania 40 this weekend!

Dan reveals his love for minor league hockey and the Milwaukee Admirals. It turns out he often goes to watch games and gets drunk on the cheap.

We made it to 400! For the big 4-0-0, we are having a party! Greg and Flex are hanging with the OGs, Scott and Dan. We’re talking about our 3:16 Day and St. Paddy’s Day celebrations, day drinking like a champ, pizza-flavored beer, and getting in a drunken wrestling match in the drive-thru.

Flex is sipping on This Is My Serious Face, a hazy from Amorphic Beer. The other gents are drinking the most popular craft beer from 2016, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Can you believe we’ve been around since 2016?!

In honor of Stone Cold Day and St. Patrick’s Day, we did some celebrating. Flex hung out with the family and had his annual whiskey shots. Dan did his celebrating on 3:16. Scott celebrated from the couch. Greg pre-gamed too hard and doesn’t remember the end of Saint Patrick’s Day 2024. Flex is a massive champion of day drinking, and who isn’t?

Someone call 9-1-1! We're excited to be at Red Engine Brewing Company to talk to Preston Andreini, the founder, brewmaster, and the man behind the vision of this new brewery. He speaks about his history with craft beer, being the first brewery in town, designing recipes, making important mistakes, and making beer people want to drink.

Preston shares Java Bump, a coffee blond ale, and the perfect breakfast beer. We discuss his "other" job as a firefighter and his connection with the brewery's name. We get into the planning stages, starting a podcast about building a brewery, getting friends to help build, and the acceptance from the local community.

Next, we share First In, an American light lager. We get nerdy with the brewing process and beer enzymes and turn the conversation to picking the correct location. He shares who helped him during the planning, the most significant lessons he learned throughout the process, and what he would have done differently.

Then we sample Smoke Show, a not-too-smokey dry Irish stout. Preston talks about his focus on beer making and the importance of having more than just beer in the brewery. He speaks about his first beers in life and brings that full circle to his brewing education. We drill down on process and discuss what hops he's crushing on and who he's excited to collaborate with.

Finally, we finish with Probie, their blonde ale. While we sip on that, we run through a round of rapid-fire questions. It would be a crime not to mention the pizza they're slinging at the brewery. We shared one before the interview started, and it was delicious!

Get ready for some beer education! Monica, the head brewer at Pedals and Pints, joins the Republic as we talk about tasty sour beers, the price of beer and snacks at the Super Bowl, new leadership at Sierra Nevada, the craft beer selection at stadiums, and getting drunk at a chocolate shop.

Who's ready to get thiolized for Valentine's Day? The Super Bowl happened; that's all we need to say. We're talking about pizza and beer combos, romantic Valentine's drinking, getting super nerdy at a brewery, vacation drinks, and the best-selling "craft" beer of 2023.

We’re talking balls and beers! With the Super Bowl this week, we have to take a moment to chat about the 49ers and the Chiefs. We’re also talking about brewery anniversary parties, Coley’s birthday shot parade, day drinking at the driving range, some unexpected brewery closures, and a big brewery sale.

Casa Agria in Oxnard had their big 8th-anniversary party last weekend, and Greg grabbed the crew to investigate. Coley celebrated her birthday with brunch and a big shot parade (don’t worry, we explain it) and the downfall of cheap champagne. Flex did some day drinking at Luxe Golf, where everything is half off for Mulligan Mondays…EVERYTHING! Greg got an embarrassing thrill of a lifetime after getting re-grammed by one of his favorite artists.

No Dry January over here! Flex and Greg are back after their holiday break. We’re talking about the wettest January to hit the Republic, holiday shenanigans, Greg’s new “job,” wine science, insane brunches, brewery buyouts, and we check in with Florida man!

Flex was busy over the holidays drinking with co-workers, playing Santa to his kids, and even staying up past 5:00 PM on New Year’s Eve! The conversation evolves into a discussion about labeling accuracy, with a sly suggestion to call all juicy beers "juicy" or "unfiltered" to avoid confusion.

Greg then gives us his review of Propitiation, a sour barrel-aged porter from Russian River Brewing Company. With tons of "sour" smell on the nose and hints of toastiness, the flavor is highly unique, with subtle fruit and chocolate flavors and a tart finish.

Life is Flantastico! We are excited to finally try the collab beer between 818 Brewing and the homie Chew Your Beer. To celebrate the occasion, we held a live podcast with Bryan and Derrick of 818 Brewing and Chew to discuss the beer, the origin, the adjuncts, and their new pilot system. We also discuss surviving the pandemic, future plans and expansions, favorite beers to make, how we got into craft beer, and listener questions!

Derrick and Bryan led us on a guided tasting of Flantastico, Valley Girl Blond, SchnuggleZ Hazy IPA, Hellyes lager, and Valhalla Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

Cheers, beers, and high life! We’re so excited to share our live interview with Philly Martinez, the new head brewer at Ventura Coast Brewing Company. Philly shared his history in the industry, learning how to drink, collabing with beer friends, working for a big brewery, taking over at an established brewery, getting fired from Costco, and keeping grounded.

Let’s get salty! We’re so excited to announce (and drink) our collaboration with Pedals and Pints head brewer Monica Potter: These Guavas Are Making Me Thirsty! It’s a Gose-style beer with guava added. It makes for a delightfully tart, crisp, and refreshing beer with some guava added to it and a hint of salt to balance things out.

To celebrate the beer release, we shared it with a live crowd at Pedals and Pints. We talked about the collab beer, Hummingbird Lager, Born to be Mild, and Pale Rider Pale Ale.

We also got to know Monica and asked about her background, love for beer, and so much more. We find out her background as a beer lover, getting into brewing and starting professionally, and how she got her start at Pedals. She also has a background in chemistry that lends perfectly to brewing. Now that she’s in charge, we get into her focus as a brewer, keeping up with demand, having so many different styles, starting to distribute, and how to stand out with so many great breweries around.

After finding out about Monica, we take listener questions. And we wrap things up with a round of rapid-fire questions.

Greetings from Malibu, CA! Greg had the opportunity to sit with the Malibu Brewing Company crew. Ryan Ahrens is the co-owner and co-founder (with Jill Ahrens), and Chas Cloud is the brewmaster.

The recent winners at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival talked about winning their first year, opening their brewpub just a couple months ago, and planning (or pivoting) a brewery during a pandemic. Brewmaster Chas led us on a guided tasting of their delicious beers: Canyon Rose Lager, Happy Days Honey Blonde, Wild Grove Hazy IPA, and their brand-new Double IPA.

We get into the pasts of Ryan and Chas as beer drinkers and find out when they got bit by the hop bug. Ryan talks about his background as a nuclear scientist and lawyer (and many other things), while Chas talks about his long experience in the local brewing community. They also share their process for recipe creation and why good ingredients are crucial to making great beer.

What do you think is the worst candy? Halloween season is upon us, and we are drinking ZERO pumpkin beers! Trillium is selling their brewery, Flex is influencing new breweries, Bud light Seltzers just got worse, Greg is partying at local breweries, and the Roll Tide remix!

Flex was invited to Lion’s Tale Brewing’s soft opening of their new spot and did some excellent research. Erica stops in to celebrate Nosh-toberfest! We’re talking about the Surf n Suds beer festival, Erica’s Aftershock aftermath, sneaking booze in sunscreen bottles, and hangover recovery times.

We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Flex is back! We’re talking about some new breweries, drinking with Instagram friends, trouble for hop growers, and Flex has some awful news to share about what he’s been drinking.

Greg talks about the party Pedals & Pints threw for Emo Night and what a great job Monica and Brit did on their emo collab beer. He also got to hang out with friend-of-the-show Fontana Jim at Naughty Pine. Flex did unofficial research with friends who gave him a Bud Light Next; not most incredible friends. He also tried to get drunk from some 450 North cans, but there wasn’t any alcohol; now, he just has fruit flies.

Mikkeller closes its San Diego taproom and production facility but still won’t address the real problem. In October, Maui Brewing and Modern Times will be under the “Craft Ohana” umbrella. Sapporo officially closes on their deal with Stone Brewing; another one bites the dust (this becomes a therapy session). Another San Diego brewery, Green Flash, is hitting the auction block this month. And German hop crops are not doing so well with the drought, it might be time to find some new varietals and we have questions.

We’re penny-pinching our way to a couple of great beers this week! We’ve got drunk city council members, Shooter McGavin arrested for a DUI, new brewery field trips, cringy open mic nights, and the cheapest cities to drink a beer!

Are you ready for pumpkin beers? The crew is split on whether to drink them or not. Greg and Shannon accidentally walk into an open mic night at a favorite brewery, and boy, was it awkward! They also talk about the crazy drunk women at a cocktail bar that were doing their best to try and get arrested.

We’re off to Connecticut for this week’s Ludicrous Libation Law…and we don’t concur.

Cape May Brewing is being sued over stealing (allegedly) Shore Tea. It’s official: beer is way too expensive. Allagash is adding their first core IPA to the lineup. It turns out that the UK is in love with the Craft Beer Republic. Erica talks about her big news with the Great America Beer Festival. She’s also got chicken drama and a snake that tried to attack her while she was getting a beer. Greg talks about hosting a trivia night on the gram and the a-holes that play at breweries but never buy any beer. Batch 316 says I just whipped your @$$! Scott makes his big return to podcasting! Flex gets punched in the face, it's a sad day in sports, Greg's birthday brewery crawl, Goose Island is dropping more barrel-aged garbage, and Florida Man has been drinking again.
