It was a brutal double homicide in a small New England town. In January of 2017, police found Christine Sullivan and Jenna Pellegrini dead underneath the porch of a home in Farmington, New Hampshire. Prosecutors paint their accused killer, Timothy Verrill, as a paranoid drug dealer, alleging that he was involved in a drug trafficking operation with Sullivan and the home’s owner, her boyfriend Dean Smoronk and that he killed the two women believing that Pellegrini was a police informant. Defense attorneys maintain Verrill’s innocence and point to Dean as the possible killer. In the early morning hours of January 29th, 2022 the body of Boston police officer John O’Keefe was found in the snow outside of a suburban home, now his girlfriend of over two years prepares to stand trial for his murder. Prosecutors allege Karen Read backed her SUV into O’Keefe after a night of drinking and then left him to die in the snow. Defense attorneys claim that O’Keefe was beaten inside of the home and tossed outside in the snow and that Karen Read is the scapegoat in an elaborate cover-up.
