Cancelled is Mamamia’s podcast all about the ridiculousness of cancel culture. Join Jessie & Clare Stephens every Tuesday as they deep dive into the story of a celebrity’s cancellation and ultimately ask who’s in, who’s out and who cares?
This podcast currently has no reviews.
Submit ReviewWhen people are found guilty of crimes, they are sentenced and serve some sort of punishment and that's the end of the story... right? WRONG!
At least not here in the Cancelled courtroom, especially not for Gwyneth "bone broth is an entire meal" Paltrow.
This week we put Gwynny on trial again, this time for some dangerous eating habits, skiing (kinda) and also for the historic crime of being mean to Winona Ryder.
But, is the sentence tough enough to stop her perfect goopy face from ending up in court for a third time?
Plus more of your lazy gewl stories!

This episode we deep dive into the world of Bridget Jones.
It's not often a woman so far out of her prime gets the spotlight (she's 32 for gods sake), but it's important we unpack this problematic cinematic masterpiece.
From harassment in the workplace, to disordered eating and grown men brawling in the street this episode has it all.
But who is really at fault? And does the sentence fit the crime?

Welcome to the Cancelled courtroom actor, father, mid-week aggressor and accidental exhibitionist Orlando Bloom.
The English actor is best known for his roles in two of the biggest movie franchises of all time, and the paddle-boarding saga of 2016. (If you know, you know)
And, while fighting and public nudity are real crimes for a real court, his bizarre daily routine and obsession with cows screams Cancelled courtroom.

Welcome to the Cancelled courtroom, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
In case you're not familiar, Nicola is the wife of Brooky Beckham (friend of the Cancelled courtroom), an actual legit billionaire, and she has been at the centre of the most confusing wedding saga of all time.
This episode we break down the wedding dress drama and all the tea behind the scenes, all those weird interviews, and Hollywood house of horrors rumour levelled against her... allegedly!
But, do the charges fit the crime? What exactly is a hedge fund? And how much really is a billion dollars?

And, we deliver Lindsay's charges and sentences - but did we get it right?

Welcome to the Cancelled courtroom, Lindsay Dee Lohan, actress, former party-girl and collector of accents that are not hers.
This episode is actually a two parter, which only became clear when researching just how many 'crimes' LiLo has committed over the years. And we aren't talking about real crimes like drink driving, we mean adopting random accents, her questionable work ethic and her feuds with other celebrities for apparent no reason.
This episode also poses the question: how many spray tans a day is too many? And what is a fit punishment for that sort of crime?

In the 90’s Hugh Grant was the rom-com king but not all was as it seemed…
It turns out the British actor wasn’t the bumbling yet adorable love interest we would see on scene, in fact he himself admits most of his costars despised him.
This episode we ask the question, who really is Hugh Grant? We learn how a terrible movie lead to a string of bad decisions which saw him in ‘real court’. And why he has more in common with King (Prince) Charles than he realises!

Usually in the CANCELLED courtroom, Clare and Jessie present 'legitimate and unbiased' evidence, and come up with ‘fair and just’ charges and sentences for the plaintiff. But, not this time. You see the pair love Mariah Carey too much to give her a fair trial, in fact the charge and sentence section is basically an audio shrine to the icon / diva.
So can the star of the (almost biographical) film Glitter come out of the CANCELLED courtroom unscathed?

Scott Morrison. Scomo. Scotty From Marketing. Mr Prime Minister.
A man of many names who has never been able to escape a mystery involving a lost rugby game and a McDonalds.
This week, Jessie and Clare look at the case of Scomo. This isn't about political parties, it's about Scott Morrison the man, and some moments from his time as Prime Minister that we need to discuss.

John Mayer is known for his charming, romantic songs but we're starting to wonder if he takes that “charm” a little… Far.
This week in the Cancelled Courtroom we’re talking about the case of Mr Mayer and his obsession with his own d*ck. Yes you read that right.
Plus, Jessie and Clare deliberate some of the most bizarre yet, most suitable charges and sentences we've ever had.
So… What are the crimes of John “That Guy’s A D*ck” Mayer? And more importantly, will he be Cancelled for them?

There are few people in Australian media more controversial than Kyle Sandilands. There are celebrity feuds, being known as a mean judge on his own show, inappropriate radio segments, debatable diva-like behaviour and the list goes on.
Lucky for you- here in the Cancelled Courtroom, we take justice very seriously. So today, Clare and Jessie are going head-to-head, twin against twin, as prosecution and defence.

When Married at First Sight (MAFS) first aired in Australia in 2015, it was just a weird little social experiment with a handful of couples.
But as producers learned what audiences responded to (dinner parties, cheating scandals, toothbrush incidents) they kept pushing the envelope.
And now we're here, and everyone's broken. Clare and Jessie dissect everything from the time a contestant threw a fruit bowl, to an act of revenge involving faeces.
So how does MAFS stand up in the Cancelled courtroom? Let's find out...

Extreme Makeover was an American reality show that aired from 2002 to 2007. The concept was that ordinary men and women who were insecure about their appearance would undergo very extreme makeovers involving plastic surgery, dental work, weight loss, plus a hair, makeup, and wardrobe transformation. At the end of the episode, they’d return home to their friends and family and there would be a final reveal of their new appearance. So how does it stand up in the Cancelled courtroom? Welcome to Cancelled, Mamamia’s podcast that unpacks what happens to celebrities once the world turns on them. Every Tuesday Jessie & Clare Stephens discuss who’s in, who’s out, and who cares, and this episode? We're examining the case of the year, 2021.
Its crimes are countless, including evidence of stuck ships, grumpy ex-presidents, a man in a whale, and a very cheap Kmart plate.
Will 2021 be found guilty?
Probably.
