Before new media went corporate and social media was so pervsive, the Black Blogosphere was popping. There were spaces that highlighted different facets of black life including gossip, fashion, relationships, beauty and more. These sites were run by people with distinct voices, and they each became microcommunities.
One of the most influential was Crunk Disorderly.
The site's owner, Shareka Roberts aka Freshalina, cultivated a community around her notable brand of humor.
Kimberly (@KimberlyNFoster) caught up with Shareka to talk to Fresh about why she stopped blogging. They also got into her perspective on the rise and fall of Black blogging and where she wants her career to go next.
