Episode 24 - The Days After
Unknown
After an unplanned break due to other commitments, the team is back with a quick update on Mooli's two Arranged Marriage meetups. Was it really Sanskari vs Modern? Does he see either of them progressing further? Is he keen to meet more matches now? Listen and find out! (21:05)
Mooli reveals some interesting details about his conversations with his current match about Religion and a new match who also lives in Australia to Bobby and Star. A happy coincidence may also lead to Mooli's first real meeting with a match! We finish off by responding to some long overdue listener emails (44:05).
An extra long episode this week, where we start off talking briefly about Mooli's match updates and his concerns about his Parents' reactions to any failures in his arranged marriage. Star and Mooli's cousin has a controversial marriage planned to someone outside of their caste and we discuss the reactions to this from their extended family. Finally, we read a listener's letter about her own experiences with caste and the role it plays in relationships in modern India (45:53).
With little to no action on the matches front, Star and Bobby try to give Mooli some (unrequited) advice in improving communication and to make better first impressions with his matches. Mooli has some objections on using their experience from dating verbatim in the Arranged Marriage arena, but there is no doubt that he has room to improve! We also discuss potential Honeymoon periods in arranged marriage and if this is really going to be an issue for our Mooli (39:06).
This quick episode comes after some effort to get us all together whilst being in three different time zones. Mooli catches everyone up on his two new matches and his conversations (or lack thereof) with them. His parents have also been unexpectedly chilled towards these two matches, but nobody thinks this will last! (20:08)
After some false starts, the gang's all back together for Season 2. After catching up on how everyone has been, we move on to Mooli's updates with Meena and the pressures they faced when they were speaking. Mooli's dramas around his relationship with his parents also continue with some negotiation around his original conditions. We round things off with a small discussion about healthy outlets when going through stressful times. (36:06)
Bobby's back for our season finale! Mooli and Star's extended family continues to provide great drama, this time in the form of a cancelled engagement. Mooli also talks us through his failed attempt at ghosting an old match, conversations with a hopeful new match and some Tinder mishaps. We round off the episode with a look to the next season (42:14).
Bobby's absence continues as Star talks to Mooli about his interactions with his last two matches. Their parents have been busy hunting for more matches and have noticed a strange behaviour in the online matrimonial world (38:01).
