Look back at Roseanne in Season One, one episode at a time, 30 years later. It's a trip down memory lane with side trips to deep show trivia.

Getting its legs! Having fun getting there. Interesting to listen to if you have an ear for 80s and 90s nostalgia, stand-up, gender roles, Illinois, growing up poor, and the re-boot of Roseanne on ABC. It's surprising how often the Hillbilly Elegy comes up -- and how often the Season 1 writers used the word "hillbilly." I would never use that word to describe the Conners, then or now. So it's weird that that keeps coming up. Especially weird if you know that show "creator" Matt Williams claims he had "working parents." (I don't think working equates to poor, Matt. Nice try.)
