Now we all know that sequels rarely live up to the original, but turns out that rule doesn't apply here and you'll see why! Get ready for The Ongoing Concept's Dawson Scholz: Reloaded...Ian and Dawson enjoyed their first conversation so much they couldn't stop. Lucky for you, they were also recording. They continue their talk about the new The Ongoing Concept album 'Places', one of the best albums of 2017 by the way, but also skew to MANY other topics including Warped Tour, Star Wars, and much more! There are a few technical difficulties, but you'll know when and Dawson switches from wifi to phone as well. But, none of that will stop you from enjoying this great conversation!Make sure to support Dawson and The Ongoing Concept by following the links below:The Ongoing Concept - WebsiteThe Ongoing Concept - FacebookThe Ongoing Concept - TwitterThe Ongoing Concept - InstagramThe Ongoing Concept - MerchNOWThe Ongoing Concept - StorenvyThanks again to Dawson Scholz for coming on the show and making it two great visits! Ian and Dave aren't out of the woods yet it seems. This sickness still has a hold on them, but they're trudging through for you! Lots to talk about in the scene, but they're not going to talk about that youtuber guy...yet. They would, but it would be better when they have the ability to fully go into everything they'd like to. It's a huge discussion. So, the time was put aside to do it, but now is not the right time with how they're feeling. That's why the episode is shorter this week! And just a word of help on that topic, if you're dealing with depression or anything that may lead you to contemplate suicide or even act on it, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.But aside from that, get ready for your best weekly dose of metalcore, post-hardcore, metal, hardcore, electronicore, emo, screamo, rock, alternative, pop-punk, punk, easycore, deathcore, and really, all the core you could ever want! It's another FUCKING GREAT, FUCKING SICK, FUCKING FREE (NSFW) episode of Ian Hates Music you say?!?! This is not a typical Ian Hates Music. In fact, it's probably more along the lines of an Ian Hates Conversations. This time though, it's Ian and Jackson having an open and honest conversation on Chester Bennington passing away last week. Mostly it's about suicide prevention, depression, freedom of speech, blame, and everything in between. The title of this episode is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number 1-800-273-TALK. Ian and Jackson wanted to have a free-flowing conversation and not write a long status update or put out knee-jerk reactions through Twitter. They have mics, why not use them? No sound effects, no intro, no music. Real talk for anyone who wants to listen. If you're depressed, want to hurt yourself, or you're suicidal, please speak to someone. It's extremely important. If anything comes out of this, please let it be that.Linkin Park put together a website to help people with quick and easy info to seek help. You can also share your stories and memories using #RIPCHESTER, so that link is listed first below because it also has contact information for other places to help:http://chester.linkinpark.com/https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/https://afsp.org/http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.htmlOnce again, if you, or someone else you know, needs help, please reach out to one of these facilities and try something different. It could help, and that's not weakness, it's strength.Ian Hates Music wishes the best for Chester's family, friends, and everyone touched by his music.Long days and pleasant nights.

This episode of Ian Hates Music (except for the very end) was recorded two days before the news of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park passing away. The end covers a small part of it, but next episode will cover most. Until then, if you're feeling depressed or something is leading you to be suicidal, please talk to someone and get help. I know it sounds cliche, but it's worth it to try anything to feel better. Ian and Jackson will talk about this more next week. Most of this episode of Ian Hates Music is great and there are a lot of debates and great music, but Jackson runs into technical difficulties and you'll hear more about this at the end of the episode, but they know you'll really enjoy this episode! That also includes Part 1 of Ian Hates Warped Tour! Listen to Ian's harrowing Warped experience and how he needed to build an ark to survive... Get ready for your weekly dose of metalcore, post-hardcore, metal, hardcore, electronicore, emo, screamo, rock, alternative, pop-punk, punk, deathcore, and really, all the core you could ever want (and is legally available)! Here's another AWESOME FREE episode of Ian Hates Music! A fantastic core music podcast
Jan 03, 2018 by editorick

This is by far my favorite music podcast. They cover post-hardcore, metalcore, etc. along with interviews, from artists and industry insiders. I've discovered so much new music from listening to this show. I look forward each week to the show and what new band I'll be listening to non-stop. Ian is a great interviewer as well and his interviews go way deeper than, so what made you want to be in a band. He is the polar opposite of BryanStars if you've ever sat through one of his interviews. He does a lot of research on his guests and really seems to connect with them. I can not recommend this podcast enough.
