The New York Yankees released their 2024 Non-Roster Invitee list for Spring Training, and some familiar names are on it. Stacey and Steve talk about the players who stick out to them on the list and why this Spring Training may be important for some of the guys on the list. Then, PECOTA projections came out for 2024, and the Yankees were ranked somewhat surprisingly—first place in the AL East, ahead of Toronto, Baltimore, Tampa, and Boston. The more shocking projection is where Baltimore lands in the standings. Stacey and Steve discuss the numbers and why you shouldn’t cling to them as gospel. And finally, the Hudson Valley Renegades are holding a cool event later in the summer on August 20. They’re calling it Bhutan Night and have invited Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association members to the ballpark. Bhutan is a small Asian country where baseball has exploded in recent years. 6,000 children play in a country that has only 700,000 people. The Renegades will be wearing special jerseys to mark the occasion and will also be auctioning off items and giving away t-shirts to the first 1000 fans. Stacey and Steve discuss how great these types of events are for growing the game of baseball and how cool it is that a Yankees affiliate is doing it.
