Pittsburgh Irish Festival (PIF) moved locations but not too far outside of Sandcastle- just to the parking lots! PIF has a special place in Rachael’s heart as it was her first podcast recording and the podcast’s first nomination to the Golden Quill Award. Joined with Executive Director Mairin Petrone, top-of-the-mornin’ performances kicked off Saturday with a band jam including Grammy winner Eileen Ivers, international sensations The Screaming Orphans as well as worldly musicians Katie Grennan and Colm Keegan graced the stage to spread a little luck and melodies. Music: Irish Jam Band: Screaming Orphans, Colm Keegan, Eileen Ivers and Katie Grennan SPONSOR: Rohrich Honda is getting into the routine of fitting things in a FIT car to demo its roominess and ease of driving.  In two weeks the Rohrich Fit will be at the Pierogi Festival at Kennywood and at it again. It is where cool rides and pierogis collide.  This time guess how many pierogi holders can fit in a Rohrich FIT. Remember, Rohrich is your neighborhood real deal for cars, so follow us on all social media. As always, stop by the Rohrich show room or visit www.rohrich.com and experience the difference. Question of the Day: As we describe the word jagoff as a term of endearment used often in Western PA, what is your most commonly used word? 2:59    Mairin Petrone: Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Irish Festival Mairin Petroneinvites YaJagoffs to the stage to be swarmed and blessed with the top names in renowned Irish music. Mairin talks festival activities, PIF logistics and its big planning for its 30th anniversary for next year. 6:11    Colm Keegan: Multi-award-winning Irish singer Colm Keegan talks about his success through Celtic Thunder, but hasn’t forgotten his passion for teaching, in which he established his own online teaching program, CKonLine. Keegan has also toured with global phenomenon Celtic Woman and has a long list of musical achievements including being invited to perform for a private audience in the Pentagon. 16:27    Katie Grennan: Fiddle player and Pittsburgh-born Musician Katie Grennan jumps on the podcast stage in Celtic charm to talk about her brand-new tracks of Footnotes Vol. 1. Chicago-based, Grennan debuts her first performance with The Steam Trio at PIF. Her favorite singer includes U2, and favorite green things include shamrocks and Rachael’s green T-shirt! 19:39    Eileen Ivers: Grammy awarded, Emmy nominated Eileen Ivers provides her backstory.  Plus, that long-list of accomplishments do not affect her humbleness, but her career in the London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops as well as guest starring with over 40 orchestras needs to be celebrated. She has channeled her ability as the founding member of Cherish the Ladies, movie soundtracks including Gangs of New York and has performed for royalty worldwide. 26:30    Screaming Orphans: The Screaming Orphans “scream” into conversation as they released their latest pop album in March 2019. The album was produced by internationally distinguished producer John Reynolds, already charted at the top of iTunes and Billboard charts, reaching No. 24 in the iTunes Pop Music charts (U.S.), No. 7 in the Billboard World Albums charts, No. 1 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts (IE), and No. 3 in the overall iTunes music charts.   SPONSOR: Rohrich Honda is getting into the routine of fitting things in a FIT car to demo its roominess and ease of driving.  In two weeks the Rohrich Fit will be at the Pierogi Festival at Kennywood and at it again.
