Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina collected his 2,000th hit last night, and St. Louis beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2. It was a big win for the Redbirds as they try and find some sort of consistency down the stretch heading into October. Beyond Dylan Carlson, no Cardinal recorded an extra base hit and they continued to struggle with RISP, gathering one hit in 16 at-bats in that scenario last night. Despite the headlines being grabbed by Carlson and Molina, the offense needs to find a way to produce more. Jack Flaherty and Daniel Ponce de Leon start in the doubleheader today, and the Cardinals have yet another chance to make a statement in the NL.
