Writing more women into architecture - Publication Date |

Architectural history is an overwhelmingly white and male — a fact that's also reflected in who makes up the profession. But a new website is trying to shift the dial.
Women Writing Architecture does what it says on the tin — it's an open-source archive of texts about architecture written by women.
Texts span a variety of languages and perspectives — you'll find Florence Nightingale's writing on hospitals cited alongside bell hooks' reflections on Kentucky.
The site's editors Helen Thomas and Emilie Apperce join Blueprint to discuss the origins of their project, and how it might feature in architectural education.
