In this video Jonathan sat down with James Romero to analyze a hand that James played during the $10,000 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. The hand starts with James opening under the gun with KJo 40bb effective. He finds two callers in the LJ (40bb) and BB (40bb). James checks again and the LJ sizes up and decides to bet 66% pot which would set up for about a 1 stack-to-pot (SPR) on the river if James were to make the call. Instead he decides to shove for 1.5x pot to deny equity to his opponent’s hands that are a pair/straight draw or hands that would have a tough time calling off their tournament life in the main event.
