The Chicago Bears locked Jaylon Johnson in for 2024 with the franchise tag. Ryan Poles will keep negotiating for a long-term contract, but don't expect a deal to happen quickly.

With the franchise tag deadline passed, now the Bears have a better sense of which players will actually hit free agency next week at some of their key positions of need.

And Poles traded a 5th-round pick for Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Ryan Bates, who gives them some added versatility up front.
