Joy Reid leads this episode of The ReidOut examining the much-anticipated, redacted copy of the search warrant affidavit of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Of the 38-page affidavit, nearly half of it is redacted. Those redactions by the Department of Justice and approved by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhardt are designed to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation by not disclosing highly sensitive information about witnesses and other grand jury material. In the 15 boxes of documents returned to the National Archives in January, the FBI found 184 unique documents bearing classification markings, including 67 documents marked as "confidential," 92 marked as "secret," and 25 marked "top secret." As we are learning more about why FBI agents searched the former president's compound, we demonstrate why storing government documents at a public events venue is a dangerous idea. Joy Reid is joined by Rep. Eric Swalwell plus her expert guests to discuss this and more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
