If you’re new to the barnyard, one easy way to tell male roosters from female hens is by the noises they make. Hens like to cluck, so when you hear a chicken go “Bawk bawk BAAAWK,” it’s usually a hen! And a rooster’s crow is unmistakable – who else starts the day with a big “errr-errr-ERRROOO?!” But what happens when hens start to crow? We asked animal expert Courtney Daigle to help us find the answer.
