It seems like every year between September and December all of the games get released. Well not all of them, but a lot, and this year seems to be no different with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Destiny, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor to name a few. So why every year do all these games get crammed into the last months of the year, instead of spaced out a bit more? If this is your first episode, Friends List is a daily web series where we have one-on-one talks about a single question related to video games. The goal is to give Polygon's many team members across the globe and those involved in covering, designing and releasing games, an opportunity to speak with you. Today on Friends List, Reporter Samit Sarkar and Reviews Editor Arthur Gies ask: Why are so many games released in the fall and so few in the summer?
