The World Health Organisation has a mission to halve the number of deaths and disability from snake bites by 2030.

A massive 1.8 million people worldwide are bitten by snakes each year.

Now a group of scientists including researchers from the University of Sydney have discovered that a century old blood thinning medication could be repurposed as a cheap antidote to cobra venom.
