“Can an Indigenous girl from a small town become a doctor one day?” Kallie Ritchie is among a new generation of medical students hoping to change the face of healthcare. She chose a school that dropped the MCAT, one of a few Canadian universities changing how they assess and admit Indigenous applicants. But that hasn’t come without pushback. Indigenous physicians Dr. Brent Young and Dr. Alika Lafontaine weigh in on the shift and what needs to be done to diversify the next generation of doctors.

Plus, we take you to a peaceful patch of prairie where a Blackfoot nation is reclaiming native grasslands.
