Late last year, more than 48,000 graduate students, researchers and teaching assistants unionized and went on strike against the University of California system, encompassing nine college campuses. We speak with master’s student, Kelsey Wardlaw (who went on strike) about her experience and why unionizing felt like the right path forward.
