The Reserve Bank's decision to keep interest rates on hold yesterday at 4.35 per cent was in line with the expectations of economists and markets.

But it was a subtle shift in the bank's language that got the most attention, with the board saying the path to target inflation remains uncertain, and they weren't ruling anything in or out.
