The Fog Rolled In

Weather flight delays.  Opportunity or annoyance?  Fog rolls in and closes the Kodiak, Alaska runway.  Stranded commercial airline pilots Doug and Dave share their perspectives. You can't build your life on past successes. Tomorrow hasn't yet come.  Documentary filmmaker Sarah Lanier joins the conversation sharing a foggy experience.

The fog rolling in was one of the most amazing outdoor weather experiences I’ve ever had.  I was mesmerized by the cotton cloud that came in off the ocean.  From where I was standing it was eerie as the fog seemed to envelop everything in its path.  An opportunity for writing a horror story lay in front of me.

My niece Sarah Lanier was with me.  She is a documentary film maker and she had her equipment. Yes, she documented this experience using time lapse.  It is available for you to view on my blog.  Please leave a comment too!

Being an outdoor enthusiast, this was an amazing sight.  One plane successfully made it through a small opening in the fog.  After that, all became silent with the closing of the airport.  Two stranded commercial airline pilots met up with us at the house we were staying at.  Doug, a gentleman I met years ago happened to be on the island for a funeral.  He was traveling with another pilot, Dave.

They had not planned on sleeping because they were awaiting the fog to lift.  Sarah and I enjoyed listening to many of their stories and adventures.  While listening, I decided it was an opportunity to have a recorded conversation.

Weather flight delays.  Opportunity or annoyance?  This flight delay was an opportunity.
