What an honor and privilege to have Texas Radio Icon, John Rody, and his wife Sallie; founders of 97.5 Fm KFTW (Fort Worth) The Pirate, in studio tonight! We talked local music, local radio, old school radio, and the future of deconstructing radio. An exciting talk about what all is going on with the new 97.5 KFTW FM, the new Low Power FM Station to Fort Worth, Texas. We were also joined by Local DJ and Friend of WhiskeyBoy, Jeff McCune tonight. It was really a fun chat. Mr. John Rody even pitched ideas to us on the show!John Rody, former host of the hugely popular 1980's morning radio show "LaBella and Rody" on KZEW in Dallas, Texas, is the founder of the Southside Media Collective. A non profit organization that is running The Southside Pirate, and soon, upon the upcoming raising of their antenna, KFTW 97.5 LP Fort Worth. We play music from Fort Worth bands, I Happy Am and The Phantom Sensation. The Pirate is currently looking for local content creators, or ‘producers' to bring content to the locally grown station. Look for announcements of new programming workshops coming up soon!Music Links:The Southside Pirate – http://www.southsidepirate.com/The Phantom Sensation – https://www.facebook.com/tpstunesI Happy Am – https://www.facebook.com/ihappyamJeff McCune DJ – https://www.facebook.com/jeffreymccuneSponsor Links:DACRON – Pillow fighting Pillows! – www.dacron.comJoin the WhiskeyBoy Radio E-Club - http://eepurl.com/_hrFn and gain access to Exclusive Content, Our Monthly Giveaway, Special Releases and more... and it's FREE!Visit our Shop / Support page to support the show! whiskeyboy.us/shop-support
