President Trump and Joe Biden will take part tonight in the second and final presidential debate of the 2020 campaign, moderated by NBC News White House correspondent Kristen Welker.
Democracy Now! will stream the debate uninterrupted live at 9 p.m. ET.
Welker has chosen the following topics: fighting the coronavirus pandemic, American families, race in America, climate change, national security, and leadership.
This was originally scheduled to be the third debate of the 2020 Election, but the second debate was canceled after Trump refused to take part in a virtual debate following his COVID-19 diagnosis.
The presidential debate commission has announced that microphones will be muted for Trump and Biden during the initial first two minutes of their opponent’s response during each of the six sections . This is an effort to avoid the chaotic, interruption-filled scene that unfolded at the first debate, when Trump interrupted Biden well over 100 times.
Democracy Now! will also air debate excerpts and analysis on Friday’s live broadcast at 8 a.m. ET.
