Flu season is upon us and stricken host Richie Bradshaw the last week. However, with all that time on his hands, we sat down and got to thinking hard about the 2022 season for Arizona State Sun Devils football. It was unkind to players and fans, to put it softly, but was it always supposed to be this difficult? The odds seemed like they were stacked against the Sun Devils before the season even started after losing so many players to the 2022 NFL Draft, the NCAA Transfer Portal, and simply from a loss of playing eligibility. The Herm Edwards era of Arizona State Sun Devils football was at a crossroads and many were ready to take the road without him, which came much sooner than anticipated thanks to a week three loss to the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Running backs coach Shaun Aguano took over as the team's interim head coach and so began a confusing and uncertain time for Arizona State Sun Devils football. Now at 3-7 and eliminated from bowl eligibility, the Sun Devils have just two games remaining for 2022 and little to play for other than pride.
