Submit ReviewKirsten Clarke is the president and executive director of the National Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. The committee was established in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy to address the inequities confronting African Americans and other minorities. Clarke believes that reversing, or preventing, the disenfranchisement of millions of American voters is central to her work and that voter suppression is solvable.
